tl;dr Ex-girlfriend keeps making contact and then disappearing for months on end, what does she want?

>date for 5 years, through school and university
>terrible break-up where she fell in love with someone else and I started drinking a lot
>2 years of bullshit after the break-up where we'd get back together, break-up, hate each other, love each other etc..
>2 years of no contact, date someone else but it doesn't work
>she gets in contact in December 2015 saying she misses me, but then drops contact for 2 months
>same again in February 2016
>talk for a bit in April, then she leaves again
>same again happens in May
>stop caring eventually and just let her do what she wants, don't bother messaging her
>gets in contact start of June
>tells me how shit her life is, that she's drinking and cutting herself
>says she misses me, her therapist and friends say she shouldn't talk me and whatnot
>drop contact again

What exactly does she want and why does she keep intiating contact and then leaving? After the messy break-up she changed her number, blocked me on FB and cut all contact but she keeps unblocking me on Skype to talk and then just going offline after a day or two of talking.

I do believe that I'm no longer in love with her at all and that I've moved on, but this constant popping up and leaving is starting to make me miss her. What's the best course of action?

I enjoy talking to her a lot and when we do talk it's usually for about 7-8 hours, but when she leaves it makes me miss her. I miss her as a friend though.
