Should I dump someone if my gut says that they're not interested in maintaining anything further, or is it usually wrong to trust your gut?
I don't really have a good reason to dump this person other than that my gut is saying that something is wrong on their end and I should leave, probably because they have been withdrawn. Every time I ask about it it ends in me being guilty that I asked in the first place.

what if it's a total disaster and you missed the right one because you wasted your time trying to force your gut to shut up. That gut is there for a reason.

I would investigate further before taking decisive action. Ask different questions, do different activities with them and try to notice if there is a change in their attitude and demeanour. Something might be up with them unrelated to you.
Better to make an educated decision rather than jump to conclusions
