How do I loosen up and relax in social situations? I rarely feel at ease talking to people, though I get better once I really know them but even then, I'm not completely relaxed. I could never have a conversation with a cashier like people always do in front of me in the queue (admittedly, they're invariably older)
Sometimes I talk louder and laugh more to help myself, but I probably come off as a fake faggot. What do?

This. You have to convince yourself the stakes aren't that high. The worst that can happen is that you come off a little awkward. As long as you're not being outright offensive, people might even find your quirks/idiosyncracies to be charming. Or, they won't, and it still doesn't matter. People who are comfortable in social situations are people who are comfortable with who they are - flaws and all
