I've found out some of my real life friends use 4chan and they've are pretty normal people. In general, introverted and have some geeky and cynical aspects to them.

However I have met some people in college that do browse 4chan and some have been really fucking weird. Like a guy I met, told me he and his friends go to each other's houses, set up their laptops and troll /b/ together. Which I thought was fucking stupid.
