mostly by planning your meals out a week in advance. you dont necessarilly have to eat it in a specific order, but you should be eating most everything on your list that week.

if you buy milk for a recipe, consider other recipes that have milk. if you cant find any, consider having cereal as a dessert or breakfast and use milk for that.

not like there is any other advice htat would help other than asking to split the cost of that milk with your roommates and hoping they dont use all of it.

smaller sized milk containers are an option but ur paying a lot still

Don't buy ultra-perishables unless you eat them routinely outside of your experimental shit.

Frozen veggies, canned goods, etc. Stuff that keeps for a long time in a cool, dry place.
