I lost my job and I realised I've never been happier. It's been almost three months of unemployment now, and I've just been living frugally off my savings. I even stopped looking for work. I spend all day making music or writing, and it's the most liberating, brilliant thing ever. My money is abou to run out, however, and I can't make any money off my music or writing. I've got a BSci in Chemistry and Philosophy, but I honestly can't find a job anywhere that interests me. I don't want to starve because I don't have the motivation now to start working again, but I also don't want to sell my soul to a job again. What do I do?
Your first priority should be a job that is okay'ish and earns you the money. How about working in a café? Or assistant at university?
Since you have experience writing songs, could you give me advice on that part? I have no musical experience but like writing.

Get a part time job & amp up the frugal factor. That way you can sustain yourself and still get plenty of time left to try to make something out of your writing/music.

you need a laidback job then like some super market night shift job just something that doesnt consume you too much. Passion is important in a job, something that engages you but you don't have that kind of option to pursue a line of work like that i think so its just important you get a job that doesn't strain you or bring you down.
What job did you quit?
