Is it worth going to university if you're autistic? I'm not exactly mildly autistic - I have a diagnosis of atypical autism and I go to special centers and all that shit - it isn't just Asperger's.
I think I will most likely do well at uni, since some fields over there are my special interests which I always did relatively well at, and studied on my own for long years, to the point of being able to easily follow and understand the present state of research in those fields.
However, I think I will either be made fun of because of my behavior and social skills (if I don't tell others about my autism, this tends to happen), or, if I do tell them, I will be treated like an alien (already happened). And in any case, I would feel rather anxious at uni, since I realize what huge of a difference there is between my and other people's social abilities.
Should I just never go to class, and just study at home and come over only for tests?
Instead of university, which is expensive and leaves you poorly equipped for the real world, have you considered trade education? Nobody will judge you for your social skills learning carpentry, and you're left well prepared for a great career.
