Just realized I have over a hundred backgrounds I have to look though, resize, and possibly edit before adding them into the game.

I don't think I will be able to cram everything I wanted into tomorrow's scheduled release build. I will still release a build as promised though.

Here is a look at the items that have been cropped out for use. They aren't in the game yet.
But once I figure out how to code a workable inventory I will include them in a coming build.
Note: not all items depicted in picture will be used in the game. They might serve as placeholders until better items are suggested and created.

I'm not sure about Endings except for game overs.
I want the game to play more like a simulator. Kind of like The Sims.
Something you can jump into and play at your own pace.

So the goal would be to just have a naughty experience of what its like to live inside the Loud House.

However, all this depends on content.Right now admittedly there isn't enough to even consider a game yet.
A "true ending" would be to experience everything;how that is accomplished is up to the player.

I'm working on the release.
The current demo on my blog is the last public released build.

I have added several things since then.
There are over 50+ backgrounds I have to edit before adding into the game.
In the next build you will be able to visit virtually every inch of the house and go outside to these following destinations:
Mall - place where you can bring Ronnie Anne on a date, buy gifts and see a movie.
Fair - place where you can bring Ronnie Anne on a date
Arcade - place where you can bring Ronnie Anne on a date
Park - place where you can bring Ronnie Anne on a date or hang out with a sister
Race Track - place where you can bring Ronnie Anne on a date or hang out with a sister (Lynn)
Hobby Shop - a place to purchase items for sisters (Luan)
Sporting Goods Store - a place to purchase items for sisters (Lana,Lynn)

I'm not sure people would want a download every time I make a minor change.
So I'm hoping the next update will be worth it. Just be patient. Thank you.

I was but I am thinking better to have a good release than a fast one.
Today was best case scenario.
But I don't want people to feel like they were ripped off when no real sex scenes are in it (yet).
So I have decided to just release it when I feel all the issues have been ironed out. All sister's rooms need to reworked. Good news is that I have a good replacement for Luna/Luan's room.

I overestimated how much I could complete by myself.
But all I will say now is whenever I release the next build I think people will be glad they waited.

Currently expanding upon and fixing areas of the house one room at a time.
Here is a look at my progress.

The goal would be to give the game an almost point and click adventure type game feel.
However this would mean a lot of menus. You would pick options that change your (first person) view.
Example:
Entering the Bathroom you could :
-stand at the doorway entrance
-stand at the toilet
-stand in front of the mirror at the sink
-stand and look next to the bathtub

Why did I postpone my update?
Because after 5 mins. People would have gone through the house multiple times and seen the same screens over and over really quickly.

The next update will hopefully add enough sides/interactions to each room to make it feel more like a complete space.

I thought keyboard shortcut controls might be cool but I think I will limit it to using the mouse.

For Leni I'm looking for something more whimsical.
Phoenix Wright might work but it feels really out of place with the current tracks I have.
Too GBA DS era soundfonts.
I do have the orchestra and jazz arrangement albums for Phoenix Wright but I don't those will work well.
I'm trying to distinguish certain genres for specific situations:
Rock (all kinds:industrial,melodic,punk,trash,power,speed,hard,classic etc.) for most of the sisters generic themes. Something that speaks about their personalities.
Special tracks for mood changes. Fast songs when in panic mode, Slow acoustic songs for romantic scenes.
Funk/Techno for Sex Scenes; really needs that bass.
Jazz/ambient for neutral parts of the house; atmospheric.

Cliff of Dover might work for the park?

Oh well I hope people will like my music picks for BGMs in the next update. I can always change them if another song is more suitable.

Like lucy's theme could start as generic goth metal and then becomes ashley's theme when she's happy or full of affection. I've got like... 10 songs that could work for luna like that.

Also I feel like lori's theme would fit as hotline bling but if you wanted an alt, you could go for something that's just the oldest song on the soundtrack. I ran or Pink Floyd or story of my life, something like that.

Music is just polish really.
I noticed a lot of other visual novel/renpy/indie porn games don't include it for various reasons.
I personally don't want people who play my game to read tons of text during silence.
As for music, I want it to be more cohesive to the game's tone and not just something like GTA's radio station.
I hope that as more content is added it will all come together.

Fucking Lori and Leni's room was being a pain in the ass to edit.
I'm finished editing the backgrounds I want to include in the next build.
Now come the tedious "fun" part coding the menus that access these backgrounds.
If all goes well I can have the next update up tonight or tomorrow morning.
It will be a MAP update; showing the player all the places they can go and potentially do at said places.
Once I feel that people like it and are satisfied with how it works I can conclude that section and move on.

If you (or any artist reading this) think you are up to this.
Here is something I will need badly:
A character sheet for every sister and also the Mom and Ronnie Anne.
This will help me to draw the scenes.

Guidelines:
I am seeking a delicate balance between something that looks source accurate and is styled enough to be fappable.

NO ridiculous exaggeration like watermelon breasts (well unless I justify it using the game's story:
Lisa gives you potions that reduce inhibitions, raise hormones, etc).
Simple shading, flat colors colorpicked right out of the shows palettes.

Try to make the differences between each sister stand out. (they are all different ages; so show that in their body types)

The artist I just posted is ManiacPaint /zabbuk on pixiv
His sketches of the sisters is a good starting point. Basically I did some glorified tracing. I cleaned up his lines, used show colors, made some changes to the design to make it more show accurate.

While I admire you dedication to doing it on your own, having additional artists willing make the sketches and lineart could do wonders for the legitimacy of the project. Just added the sounds but they function as music.
The background music will STOP so that the sound effect can START
so if you play the coming next build. My advice is to read the text at a moderate pace.Not too fast not too slow and let the music play without clicking past it quickly otherwise it will cut it out and sound bad. This especially is true for the new splashscreen I added.

Picking songs from my own personal music library I have 150 potential tracks to use. I will be adding them into the game gradually.

I have decided to use VTMB unused tracks by Rik Schaffer (for Lucy). They are moody but not heavy. I still think they fit Lucy's personality.

Technically, there are no bugs since Renpy would tell me if there was a coding error.

However there might be some weird redirects.
Just write down what you want to see in coming builds and please read my Dev Notes in the build.

I only replaced the older backgrounds.The new backgrounds are the right size but they haven't been color corrected so different walls of the same room might have slightly different shades.
Also the backgrounds are mostly screenshots from a stream so they aren't the best quality. If I could get my hands on logo free HD videos I can replace all the current backgrounds with higher quality ones. Or I can apply a slight blur to every background in photoshop it will make the pixels blend but make it blurry and not as detailed.
The show itself has some sort of pixel rug texture applied to it so I could leave as is too.

Let me know if a song seems significantly louder or softer. I don't really know how to equalize them all together. I'm not a sound guy. I just opened them in audacity and set them softer.

Music is a great touch I like it a lot. The song for Lincoln's in really quiet compared to the rest, even the others in his room. Which is made even more jarring cause of how much louder the main menu song is than the others. So if you could check those two it'd be cool

That little area when you click the backyard and you have to choose between outside and the basement is weird. Can you run into girls there? Why have that if you can just go to the basement already? I say keep it and get rid of the basement option on the map. Just give it a new name. (what do they call those? mudrooms I think?)

Same thing with the stairs and the area in front of the front door too. Is something planned to happen there or are we just getting an extra section for no reason?

I like on the bottom floor how you see the rooms when you hover them, but I also like the colored borders. I think you should put the room pictures on the layer under the colored borders so we can see both.

Lana and Lola's room should just be one but I feel like you already know about this. The little dead space between the hallway and the room entrance is weird just stretch the hallway longer.

I think the stats at the mirror would be a good idea but could you also make it so the player sees Lincoln in the mirror? All grey mirror is weird to me.

And lastly for the vent make it so can hear the girls talking about what item they want or are looking for. You said how you can buy items and give them to the girls using the computer. I'm not a programmer but you can probably make it so the girls want one item more than the others at random times for a few days and give a bonus in affection y'know.

What's with all the little areas?
Its how the previous build was made. I was trying to match my background screenshots with the floor plan.
Also it provides more areas to have conversations in and find items in.
It makes the house feel big and the rooms seem more complete.
I plan to make it so you can EITHER use the floor plan map to jump to a room (This method doesn't really make sense unless I tailor the storyline and the player's jumping follows a semi-linear path)
OR
start at a room and make your way around the house by clicking through menus (i.e old school point and click adventure game style) go left go right look at thing etc.

For some reason the only art of the twins' room is the concept art and it is wide. I can't cram it into Renpy's 800x600 resolution size without it looking like ass.

The game's story will work like this:
episodic day by day (maybe I try to strive toward making one week (5-7 days) then have it repeat.Each single day is different enough from each other but it will repeat so you don't have to miss anything just need to pick what order you want to do stuff in?

Why did this build take so long to release?
Because I rewatched the whole series (5+) and paused it every 3 seconds to screenshot potential backgrounds/items to use. Then I had to edit out any people in them and remove the watermarked logos in them too. I end up having to redraw 30-50% of the background.

Hey nice. Some of these variants are a lot more cool and creative than the ones I did ('specially the twins + Lisa, which I practically put zero effort into). One thing I'd suggest would be that you try to incorporate the original colors like I did, all pretty much the same as the colors of their portraits. Like, people associate red with Lynn, green with Lisa, ect. It just helps them be all that more recognisable at first glance without a label, y'know? ('oh it's pink, must belong to Lola')

As a guy who grew up with lots of siblings myself, me, my brothers and my manlet Dad all had different colored/ patterned underwear and socks from each other, so that it would be immediately obvious who they belonged to when sorting them out after a wash. This was the thing that inspired the drawing, and I'm certain that we weren't/aren't the only family IRL to do so. Also,

How should I handle this?
From the intro, you jump to the floor plan map then you can choose which room to enter in.
However, you can actually navigate through the house using the menus that pop up on the start of every room background.

The stairs function as the bridge between the 1st floor (ground floor) and the 2nd floor (sisters' room)

Shoudl I pick 1 type of travel navigation? Or use both and if I use both how do I make it not conflict.

Pokemon style fly map: It doesnt make sense for you to jump from your bedroom to the bathroom without interacting with the hallway.
In a house of 10 sisters, you are bound to face obstacles that impede your progress.
Teleporting around could cause you to miss something.

Old school point n click style: using the menus requires way more clicking and reading through the options.
It makes sense to travel from adjacent room to adjacent room. But its too tedious to get from point A to B.
It does allow you to choose interactions and movement on the same menu.

well if you have time you could create a sort of 'running' travel with the arrow keys. the only time it would stop you was if something like a special event or sister blocked your path and other than that just skipped over descriptions, in effect making the player seem to sprint as fast as possible, until they decided to 'walk' with the standard point and click interface. You'd have to incentivize using each one at different times tho. like if the player does laundry while one of the sisters is in the shower, they'd have to sprint upstairs to, eheh, catch the show, or if they ran it might draw a little more suspicion to them, or that some interactions are barred off if the player's running.
I have no idea how long that would take to program.

I will add all the planned locations in it. Then figure out a solution for the overall navigation.

Dungeon crawler variant seems the best cause it leads to the potential of running into sisters around the house and it makes use of those smaller sections. However I think you should also keep the map you have now for when people have a specific goal in mind and they don't want to click through the whole house.

While one player might just be going through the house talking to all the girls as they see them on a playthrough, maybe another anon wants to specify on one girl. So say he wants to go on a date with ronnie anne at the arcade. He would have to:

leave his room
go through the entry way
go into the hallway
down the stairs
go to the front door
outside
then the arcade

All of which he would potentially be stopped by a sister he doesn't want to talk to. But if he was given the other option by hitting a hotkey or something it could just be

In bedroom
hit (m) for map or some shit
click downstairs/outside/arcade (depending on what you want)
fuck ronnie at arcade

So I say that the map system you have now would be fine if you used it like a fast travel set to a hotkey and use arrows to go around as well. The only thing that would change about the map would be that if you click on the stairs it would just switch to the map of the other level (top or bottom floor) and you could fast travel to them.

Just gotta say i really like TLHGdev.
When i got into this show i really wanted a game about it but considering what i've seen form /stg/ and anything related i didn't have any faith.

Then this guy shows up and even if it's still early i really like what he put out so far, it's looking like a solid foundation and that's more than you can say about other devs.

Leaving them alone causes them slowly drop meter
Depending on where you are at in terms of meter they will react to you differently.

Example:
You max out Lynn's meter and she is willing to go the distance with you
However you decide to focus on the other girls and spend less time hanging out with Lynn or just not as much.
If you leave her alone long enough she will go from wanting your dick to being really cold.
My justification for it is that in Lynn's mind, Lynn thinks that your thing with her was just a fling and if you don't want to spend time with her she won't spend time with you.
You can bribe your way back to a loving status with gifts i.e a new signed baseball bat for Lynn. Or just spend time with her again.
Just like in real life, that is the dating sim/harem part of it.
Gotta keep your bitches happy.

Events are milestones. If you fulfill the requirement you can do it.

ALL sisters rooms have been redone with added interactions set in place.
currently working on other locations:
I still need to do the backyard,and the outside locations like the mall,arcade,park etc.
Once those are all done the map can be considered "complete" only needing refinement/revisions. Lets hope when new episodes come out; that I can add even more (better quality) content in the next builds.

I'm working out the details I want to strike the balance between grinding and progression.

I'm thinking of having an action where the player can go outside and do odd jobs around the neighborhood to earn money like mow lawns.

(maybe once your relationship status reaches a certain point with a sister they would be convinced enough to help you earn money as well. By doing the odd jobs as well.) This way players are rewarded for their progression. This makes the sisters more subservient to you and I think people will like that.

I want it to have depth but not be a clusterfuck of stats.
I hope to make the encounters varied. Ideally you wouldn't read or see the same cutscene twice or at least not until you play for a long while.
Example:
Luna has drums in her room. You can practice on them to boost meter with Luna. Every time you go there you hear a different drum solo and a different response. (I hope this helps make the game's immersion). The downside of focusing on Luna is you are missing out on other potential game content. The time you spent on Luna could also be spent interacting with multiple sisters to build their meter at the same time; unless you like Luna and want to max her out first. If you try to game the system and grind it out; you could do that but its not really the best way to enjoy it in my opinion.
I will see about adding cheats or gallery unlock for people who just wanna fap.

If you want access to unique items like sex toys and costumes(including the spycam). They would need to be unlocked with money. I will make the prices reasonable.
The whole spy cam thing is planned. You can use it for blackmail
But you place them around the house like a ninja.
