As a minor critique, the top part of your ear, where it connects to your head, is nearly always level with the points of your eyes. The ear in this picture is too low. Yep. Basically the approach I used for Overwhored was still slower than I'd like, but there were options. I could just hire an artist that could get X amount of work done in a month. If they were booked I could just hire someone else. There were no real style constraints either. Just have everyone do everything in their own style.

The result is a huge increase in quality and art consistency but things just take a lot longer.

I'm going to put this up on my Patreon tomorrow so people can see how work is progressing. Ideally the next release will be the end of September / start of October.

First of all, both of us regularly reach out to other devs to offer assistance in spreading the word about their games both on here and on other forums, or sharing voice/music/art talents, as well as helping them out in any other way we can, and we've both given many, many posts of advice on pitfalls a lot of devs fall into and how to avoid them, so to say we "don't foster creativity" is ridiculous.

Second, there are literally hundreds of H-games on Patreon, and quite a few of them are doing better than both of us financially and user-base wise. We're not the end-all-be-all of h-games, by a long shot, so how you got "the threshhold of success seeming too high" is beyond me.

All you need to make a solid game in general, porn or not, is 1) drive/passion, 2) skills (or hire someone who has this), 3) a clear vision of what you want your game to be, 4) time to implement it and the discipline to do so, and 5) someone to help spread the word about the game, which Cypress, myself, and many other h-devs have done for many other people's games multiple times. (I've personally reblogged stuff on Tumblr for at least 10 other h-devs, as well as linked/promoted other h-devs on my Patreon with mutual $1 pledges, and spread around a list a while back on many sites with the Breeding Season drama with other h-dev's patreons in the list.)

As for the final point of "made quickly enough", large, AAA games require triple-digit teams and still take 3+ years; Overwhored was essentially Cypress and a rotating list of artists whenever they had time, and that still only took 5 years, and Future Fragments hasn't even been in development 2 years with just a 3 person team.

Finally, /weg/ has existed long before us, so I'm fairly sure we're not "stifling growth" of anything by posting advice on here that people have *asked for* multiple times.

It's still an RPGMaker game but there's no grinding and everyone gets the XP provided they're in the party (even if they're KO'd), so there's some strategy involved if you want to go around fighting the hardest optional fights. The right set-up, formation, and skill usage can radically change the difficulty of a fight.

Also there's several subsystems plus a ton of little hidden variables and choices the game tracks, so while there aren't really much in the way of full branching paths there's a lot of different ways your actions can unfold both good and bad, so outcomes can range from being an incredibly smooth operator to fucking up so badly that everything is now on fire.

While it's not exactly a game focused around getting sex scenes (and doesn't have any illustrations yet), I do enjoy playing the game and poking through it with RPGMaker to see all the interesting things Sierra Lee put under the hood.

Off the top of my head, ULMF and TFGames are probably the main two communities that actually give feedback/respond to people doing Patreons that are also adult themed forums. I post on a good number of other forums, but the majority of them give one or two replies to each topic, if even that, unless your game is finished. The exception to this is if drama is going on, and if there's drama with an unfinished game, then the topic soars into double digit if not triple digit pages.

I also post on a few forums that have adult sections, but are primarily not adult game themed, or they allow 18+ posts but there's no forums specifically for adult games.
