Before I respond to the two posters below, I wanted to link this; http://hentaiwriter.tumblr.com/post/147305544049/well-ill-be-damned the tl;dr of it is that PayPal is now accepted by Patreon for NSFW Patreon accounts (it wasn't before). So that's pretty awesome, for a lot of reasons.

- Future Fragments has a new demo coming out with a lot of new features in two or so weeks, with monthly demos from here on out
- Magic Matchup is still selling pretty well
- Internal Interrogation's focusing primarily on the programming/dialogue for right now while ViperV focuses on getting the Divine Arts demo out
- Reclaim Reality should have the first character's full spriteset complete by the end of next week, and work on backgrounds for the demo will begin soon thereafter (we have a lot of stuff done mechanics/character design-wise, most of last month was spent on character designs/backstories, that's all done now)

I'll be the first to say that Magic Matchup is the worst game we'll ever release, because everything we do after it will be better. As far as the work that went into it, there was actually a solid amount of work that went into the dialogue and paths through the game. Most of the work was making sure that the timelines never violated each other continuity-wise, while still making all the timelines reference one-another within the dialogue.

And if you think we're trying to sell poor games, go try out Future Fragments, especially the new demo once it's out; we're designing it to be good enough to stand among any other indie platformer out there, by far.

gamemaker or construct2 are good starter engines but require personal licenses (can torrent) for more convenience things, but even full games are made within the free limitations.

I figured it out, you can also use cheats like player.persuasion = 100 and whatever other stat you have. The dialogue options are ridiculously potent at that point. For instance Terrify or whatever instantly makes fear go to 100 if you have 100 leadership.

The only stat I can't decrease right away is inhibition. Seems you need to use the suppression superpower power but it takes way too fucking long.

The game actually seems like it could be pretty neat and I don't completely hate the art. The problem is this guy has no sense of what constitutes a reasonable amount of time. Everything takes fucking ages of grinding and the combined willpower + energy restriction mechanic is torturous. I realize it's limited right now since you're limited to one girl but fuck me this shit can't possibly get much more interesting.

What he should do is get rid of the retarded stat system and school grinding and just have you manipulate the girls with superpowers, since that's the entire point of the game. Get rid of energy and have more ways to increase willpower throughout the day. And of course make the time gating more reasonable. It's version 1.0.1. "Stripped down" is probably not the most accurate term, but it will not have my full quest line additions with artwork. They're only partially done.

It still has everything else. The full translation, modified NPCs to react to Aina's attire, lots of new mini-events where they try to get Aina to flash them, a new flashing standing portrait, a new zoomed in breast shot when Doka explores..., added stuff prior to h-scenes to make them more integrated, and lot's of other stuff. I kept the main storyline the same, and tried to stay true to the author's vision while adding and building upon it. Hopefully, it works, we'll see. I will note, that damn, Japanese developers really like long-winded h-scenes :P

In case you didn't know, Chronicles of Lonvenholm was put on permanent hiatus. The developer ran a final survey to get feedback on the many problems people had with the prologue. He is taking it back to the drawing board to try and make a better experience. One thing he listed though was to switch to a more "anime" style artwork, which I hope he doesn't. I love anime-style, but I thought the artwork in the game was fucking amazing, it was everything else that needed work. I draw in vector, so when I tried to simply added the opened vest standing portrait, it didn't mesh well. Plus, I knew fairly early on that I'd want to add a few quest lines, the original game opened the door for a lot of cool events (and even had things setup indicating the developer planned on doing more). So, I knew I'd be adding artwork, and one way to really learn how someone draws is to try to copy their drawing. It helped me fully understand how Aina was built, his shading style, etc. I know the new versions are slightly different, but I hope they are not distracting. I was happy with how they turned out.

Finally, in creating my own version of the standing portrait, I had source artwork I could mess with if I needed to down the line. Like adding another outfit or something.

Look around on HentaiFoundry for fetishes/topics you like or would fit your game, then find solid artists in those categories. Send all of them messages; probably 5% will respond. Then give them proof that you know your stuff writing/programming-wise, and out of that 5%, probably only 5% of them will actually be up to work on a project (having the time to do so, etc.), and you'll have to see who best fits you out of those people.

It'll take a lot of time and effort, but finding someone solid that you mesh with is important. Also, would recommend that you don't do writing AND programming, unless it's a small game, as writing is no easy task, and neither is programming, and doing both might overtax you if this is just your starting project.

Let me tell you, this game was the fastest growing thing once upon a time, but everything changed when Patreon happened. Other "talented" "developers" "joined" and everything went to shit. Progress ground to a halt inversely proportional to the amount of money coming in.

- The hentaiwriter patreon started, produced, and released Magic Matchup in under 4 months. Internal Interrogation has animations, backgrounds, as well as character designs and game mechanics all posted, and should have a demo out within 2 months tops.
- The Reclaim Reality Patreon just now started, so of course it doesn't have much content, but in terms of game mechanics/character designs/plot, those are all done.
