Symmetra doesn't have a prosthetic arm. She's wearing what's basically a super fancy Power Glove that houses her tech and gives her a gesture control interface. You can tell because her Vishkar skin has fingerless gloves and her own hand shows through. Also if you compare it to McCree, who does in fact have a cyborg arm, you can see how hers is more of a light weight Iron Man design.

That's set before Overwatch was recalled. When she still worked for them like I said. I just figured it got lost in an explosion since she was already doing that shit in the comic. To me it looks like a prosthetic because of how the finger joints move, if it was a glove it would be slightly bulkier than her other hand with all the electronics in it.

Overwatch has a very cartoony style, and a lot of the characters have exaggerated proportions. Realism is not the main priority here.
Mercy's boots have very narrow ankles, but I don't see people drawing her as an amputee like they do with Hanzo.

I know its part of their style. I never actually considered Pharah to be an amputee until some other guy in one of these threads mentioned it. I always thought it was just a suit of armor. However when i heard that, it came to me as a possibility since the shape of the armor wouldnt really allow for a normal body (even within the artistic style of Overwatch) to fit in there. And with the general theme of the game along with characters like Torbjorn and Junkrat, it would seem very plausible for Symmetra to have a prosthetic arm.

Overwatch plot for that one fucker that has lived underground for the last month.

In the near future, humanity has managed to build AI robots called omnics. And it was cool and shit, except that a good deal of them suddenly decided we were to be BTFO the planet for no reason. The world's armed forces didn't take too kindly to that, but the omnics could patch their losses faster and create new varieties of their own to adapt to human strategies. Things looked grim until individual heroes started showing up that kicked lots of omnic ass on their own, so the United Nations gathered them in a special team to strike at critical points, like the factories that churned out omnics. Eventually, the robots were beaten back, humanity signed a treaty with the non-shitheaded omnics, and the team became the starting point for an international organization dedicated to peacekeeping and progress, Overwatch. And things were cool, for a while.

But after years of Overwatch being the world's police, bad rumors started floating about them. Really bad stuff. The rumors were easily ignorable at first since Overwatch was pretty much the Justice League, but they became noisier and noisier in time. Eventually, it was revealed that Overwatch had a black-ops division called Blackwatch doing disappearances, kidnappings, torture and all sorts of bad shit, and after the agency's HQ was blown up in a freak accident the UN decided to disband it for good.

Years passed, and chaos started taking over the world again. New omnic uprisings happening, more terrorist attacks, megacorps quietly gathering power, the world's climate going to shit, etc. Then, there was a sudden rash of curious incidents including the very public foiling of a museum heist by two former Overwatch agents. The UN was quick to announce that Overwatch was still disbanded and its agents forbidden from taking action, but they didn't know Overwatch had decided to refound itself and FUCK THE POLICE.

Genji (Shimada Genji) was the carefree son of the leader of the Shimada clan, a Japanese criminal organization. He was much more interested in scoring mad pussy and going to parties than getting into the clan's business, however. When his dad died, the clan's elders told his brother, Hanzo, to bring him into line. In the resulting fight, Hanzo killed Genji - or so he thought. Overwatch recovered his broken body and made him into a cyborg to help them take down the Shimadas, which he mostly did before abandoning the agency, ashamed of what he had become. He only started finding peace when he met Zenyatta and followed his teachings. He has made his peace with what he's become, and has forgiven Hanzo for what he did.

Basically, he's Overwatch's Raiden. He deflects bullets with his sword, ninjas around, and summons a fuckoff dragon with his blade because that's a Shimada blood ability, apparently.

Jamison was one of them, and with his Australian Liberation Front he waged a guerrilla war against the omnics until the omnium, the automated factory that produced them, was blown up. This also showered the Outback in radioactive debris. The radiation-maddened Junkrat found... something in the omnium's ruins. Whatever it is, it's valuable enough that he managed to hire Roadhog as his permanent bodyguard for a 50-50 division of the spoils, and both Reaper and Hanzo are interested in it.

Torbjorn (Torbjörn Lindholm) is a Swedish engineer. Part of the original Overwatch crew, he was their chief gadgeteer and builder. He believes that machines are made to serve man first and foremost, which makes him very leery of omnics as a concept, to say nothing of equal human-omnic relations. After Overwatch fell, he dedicated himself to stop the use of high-tech for nefarious purposes, which meant he often had to go against designs of his own making.

Widowmaker (Amelie Lacroix) was the wife to Gerard, an Overwatch agent. He was tasked to investigate Talon, which made the terrorist group kidnap Amelie in retaliation. Fortunately, she was saved by Overwatch, and they were happy.

For about two weeks. Then Amelie murdered Gerard in his sleep. She had been brainwashed by Talon, and after her first mission was complete she returned to them to be trained in the killing arts. Her body was modified to work at a lower temperature and her heart only needs to beat once a minute. She is the perfect sniper, and only feels alive when killing someone.

D.Va (Song Hana) is a Korean Starcraft pro. No, seriously. Korea had a recurring problem with a gigantic omnic that periodically attacked it. Their armed forces managed to beat it back every time, but never defeat it in full. When the omnic started jamming and subverting the unmanned combat drones the Koreans used, they decided to tap the abilities of their professional videogame players. Hana was the greatest Starcraft player at the age of 16, so she was a shoo-in with her perfect reflexes and APM to get into a combat mecha and blow omnics up. She even livestreams her battles.

Fanon: petite Asian waifu uguu~ Actually no, she's a brat and Better Than You At Vidya. She's even spawned a spinoff fanon character, Gremlin D.Va., a malignant midget that feeds on Mountain Dew, Doritos, and salty tears of the bads she reks until they git gud. Also plenty of ageplay since she's the youngest of the cast at 19.

Reinhardt (Reinhardt Wilhelm) is Don Quixote that can actually fuck windmills up. This German dude is an original Overwatch member, and the heart of the original crew. As the oldest of them, he was forced into retirement before Overwatch fell, and had to watch as his family tore itself apart without him being able to do anything about it. Now he roams the world, seeking wrongs to right, his body giving up little by little.

Roadhog (Mako Rutledge) has a similar history to Junkrat. He just wanted to be left alone in the Outback, but the fucking omnics ruined that. When the omnium blew up, there was little to do but scavenging the ruins and riding forgotten highways, his humanity slipping away until he was just a cold and uncaring enforcer. Junkrat seems to like him better than he likes Junkrat, funnily enough. Definitely smarter than him.

Winston (Winston) is a genetically engineered gorilla from the Moon. Seriously. He took his name from his "father" and teacher, Professor Harold Winston, who unfortunately died when the other gorillas staged an uprising. Winston escaped that, and ended up joining Overwatch as a scientist. He created Tracer's chronal anchor device, and is the one that issued the recent recall order for former Overwatch operatives. Super calm and polite unless he's going apeshit, great at guerrilla warfare.

Zarya (Aleksandra Zaryanova) grew up in a Siberian village devastated by the Omnic Crisis. She swore as a child to gain the strength to rebuild her home, and took the oath a little too literally since she focused on weightlifting and becoming an Olympic athlete. However, when the Siberian omnium became active again and her home village was in danger, she dropped her promising career to join the Russian Ground Forces and fight against the robots. Naturally, she mistrusts all omnics.

Fanon: RUSSIA STRONK. Highest chance of having futa art. Paired with Mei because Sino-Soviet superiority.

Lucio (Lúcio Correia dos Santos) is a DJ/freedom fighter from Brazil. He grew up in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, where life was shitty but he could get by. Until an Indian megacorp, Vishkar, moved in and promised people a better life - that involved demolishing people's houses, setting them to work as forced labor, imposing curfews and generally being assholes. Lucio, who used to be just a street musician, decided enough was enough and with stolen Vishkar sonic technology and lots of guts he drove them away from his home. The incident brought him to fame, and now he's a world-famous DJ and artist.

Fanon: Cool surfer bro even though he doesn't surf. Black man, so BBC. (Technically Reaper is black too, but he doesn't count.) Paired with D.Va as they're both fans of each other's work in-canon.

Mercy (Angela Ziegler) is a Swiss doctor and medical researcher. Tapped by Overwatch for her work on nanomedicine, she became a valuable asset for the agency, using her Valkyrie flying suit as a first responder and her research to combat plagues and epidemics. She tried to stop the rift between Morrison and Reyes from spreading, but failed. She's the one that brought Genji back to life, and implied to have tried to do the same to Reyes but created Reaper instead. Older than she looks.

Fanon: every mom-related trope, sexual or not, has been applied to her. Main ships are with Pharah (both are the game's sole fliers so far and they look cute together) and 76 (because Team Mom/Team Dad) Her alternative Devil Mercy skin is also popular. Sometimes represented as angry, frustrated and snappy because, well, she's the main medic in a team-based online game.

Zenyatta (Tekharta Zenyatta) is an omnic monk. He's member of a sect called Shambali, that believes omnics possess souls just like humans. He disagreed with the sect leader, Mondatta, on the proper way of engaging with humans - Zenyatta is all about going out into the world and changing individual lives, while Mondatta was more about affecting humanity as a whole to secure peace between them and omnics. Unfortunately, Widowmaker shot Mondatta in the head. Zenyatta is super pleasant and polite, even to the more omnic-prejudiced members of the cast like Zarya, and he is the one that pulled Genji from his self-destructive path.

Fanon: the only reason he's not the purest is because Bastion exists.

Finally, Symmetra (Satya Vaswani) grew up in poverty in India, before being taken by Vishkar as a gifted student, never to see her family again. Vishkar helped with the post-Omnic Crisis reconstruction of India with their signature hard-light technology, and Satya was trained to be one of Vishkar's architechs and literally shape buildings and cities. She was too good for that, though, and the higher ups decided to use her in less-legal practices. She was given the codename "Symmetra," and used as a spy and agent for the Corporation's interests. She's a little autismal (OCD, zones out from conversations, etc.) but not so much that she can't function in society. Dislikes Lucio, the feeling is mutual.

Fanon: OCD, stickler for the rules, kind of a bitch. Least popular of the Overwatch girls, still delicious brown.
