He was born as a sort of joke, and I'm not yet sure if he takes a place in the game.
I guess you already figured the game will be centered around beautiful slavegirls, some of whom were protagonists of their own media in their previous lives. But Fifo, and that's this mysterious slaver's name, isn't interested in beauties. He buys heroines who are anything but beautiful. Hideous villainesses, Nickelodeon cartoon chars or just the victims of bad designers, that's his stock. Is he crazy or up to something? We'll know if he makes it to the game.
And thus far I'd be grateful if you add your suggestions to my list of ugly heroines. Perhaps it will provide some fun quest ideas.

Avoid it as much as possible.

I am going the auto-frankensprite route for my MV game. I layer all the parts ( eg arms, torso, heads, hair etc ) in gimp and export pngs of each layer, and then I have code that layers parts/equipped clothes automatically on the fly when the game is played.

Currently I have a hard-coded database ( associative array ) that has the name of the layer file and a number and the layers are stacked sorted according to this number which reflects the way I have the layers in gimp ordered.

I have this working for the walking/traversal sprites and I can equip clothes, change breast size etc. ( currently I have a nude female sprite and she has Lois Griffen's green blouse and tan pants that she can remove/wear in the equip menu, and it shows on the traverse char ) I could also remove legs/heads/arms etc and make her an amp since I drew all the layers to look good(ish) disconnected but that doesn't make sense.

Since clothes/parts may require more than one layer, I specify which in the database's note field on the armor tab with one or more lines of the form LAYER=BLOUSE_TOP or LAYER=BLOUSE_BOTTOM ( for the blouse ).

Next, I want to add support for a HUE= line where I can have the clothes automatically recolored ( limiting my work and files required )i I'll probably do this today.

Also my TV(Traverse) sprite looks the same whether it is walking left or right so further limit my drawing.

I don't think I am going to have battles in my game, and spriting is a lot of work, so I might not get ambitious enough to do SV Sprites for my characters and all the clothes they might wear. But I am not drawing face icons (not good enough at art). I'll just scale up my TV face, or the SV face if I decide to make it as it is a better angle.

Even my TV sprite has too short legs and too long torso b/c I can't get foreshortening right. (will fix before I do too many clothes )

AIF are text adventures with adult themes.

I'm sure some of you are familiar with GoblinBoy's stuff and I saw BBBen's Let Me In posted somewhere recently (as well as Pervert Action series). Both these authors are setting the trend for using poser-type illustrations, but more traditional AIF games usually just feature text.

Traditionally, AIF is written in one of three different parser languages: Adrift, TADS and or Inform7. Some other games are written in Twine and other engines, but I'm not that familiar with them. While the parser languages don't necessarily support adult content, for TADS and Inform there are modules available that program in the basics for an adult orientated game.

Personally, I'm partial to Inform 7 for authoring, as it uses a natural language for game design (as opposed to coding), and I'm messing around on my own game using Fictitious Frode's library extensions to write my game without having to code the adult content from scratch. Informed AIF extensions are a work in progress, but they have enough internal documentation to help you work it out.

So, I got a game idea. Just a high concept, nothing more. I thought it might be an idea to share it, but don't expect anything to come out of it, ever.

Central concept is: the player is a cultist/head priest(ess) dedicated to some old eldritch god from Beyond Space and Time, and by furthering their patron's agenda, the player gains more power (magical spells & knowledge, assistance and loyalty from their master's servant monsters). Think of it like (conceptualy) similar to Eternal Darkness, if you played the entire game from Pious' perspective (including multiple gods to allign to, each with different effects), except you weren't a dessicated husk, everything is a lot more lewd and sacrifices focused on different bodily fluids. The player stars out on their own, building a cult around themselves and increasing their influence behind the scenes of the world.

What I haven't figured out yet:
Ultimate player goal: why further the Old Ones' goals? Personal power? Fighting off another Old One?
Gameplay/core loop: VN? RPG? point-n-click adventure game? Management game? Some other method?

Interactive Fiction is just the community preferred term for text adventures. They aren't made commercially much anymore, but they're still being made by fans and usually released for free.

Adult Interactive Fiction is just the subset of IF games that have adult themes, usually they revolve around seducing someone or fucking a whole bunch of characters. They are IF's version of hentai games.

If you're just getting started in IF with Inform or TADS, the default systems have all the actions you'd need to write something like Zork. Moving from place to place, picking up objects, darkness, unlocking things, interacting with things, all these actions are already implemented (although you have to modify them for specific cases). If you want to write an AIF game, you have to code in the extra actions like kissing and fucking, clothing subsystems, other sexual actions, consent, arousal, etc.

Luckily, you don't have to do code all this yourself or reinvent the wheel. Even the early alphas of the new renpy don't crash as often as the most polished builds in RAGS. I'd say Violated Heroine is a good place to start for RPG Maker games and Sengoku Rance is a good place to start for eroge.
