I think that depends on whether or not there *is* a guide. If there is, then the grinding is worse, because it takes more time than just reading the guide and doing what it says. If there's no guide, then it's worse to have to look around for something that's damn near impossible to figure out on your own. Grinding might get tedious, but at least you know you're making progress.

I guess if I had to choose one of those flaws to apply to every game, I'd go with the grinding, because there's no guarantee that every game will have a guide.
