I just went around to the Church and all my options were centred around corrupting it, and had no options to ask how to save the city, so my impression is I'm meant to be corrupting?

If the delivery's not accurate to the character and situation, it doesn't matter how "good" the actor is because it breaks the illusion and distracts the audience. That's why directors exist.

I've played at least one demo of SD (back when it was still HI). The voice doesn't match the character, even in puppy mode. There should still be a tinge of the gruff sister in the voice, this isn't transformation porn where the point is a man totally becoming a woman.

The delivery is (as other people noted) unjustifiably brisk. No one should be speaking at anything other than a normal speed for the lines and context which in most cases means normal speaking speed.

If you're pleased enough with this kind of delivery to show it to the public, you're not qualified to direct voice actors and they will only do what they think you want, depending on their competency. Find someone else in your project to manage this and deal with the costs involved, or treat it like multiple routes as something too complicated for a first outing (which really disappointed me to learn about, btw).

Before Overwhored I made a complete (shitty) game called Hypno Master that went out onto the net. It was bad but it was a complete game. I made a few dozen learning projects before and after it.

Can't say my model is one everyone should follow but it worked for me.

I like Free Cities and get back into it every few months, but dear lord does it not do text-based well.

If your game is text-based, the text should be pleasing to look at, easy to read, and be nicely-formatted, with paragraph breaks for clarity.

Free Cities has massive walls of text, each line seems to start at a completely arbitrary point, there is no logical order to the information it gives you, and it looks like a rainbow vomited all over it in completely random places.

It's also a bit slow to react to clicks, which is fucking unacceptable in a text-based game in this day and age. Your hyperlinks shouldn't be taking as long the next page to load as actual internet hyperlinks. It's all fucking local, for christ's sake.

With a complete UI overhaul, Free Cities could be way better than it is. It's the same issue as Trap Quest - the game is just too cumbersome to be worth playing.

Finding good open-source porn pics is really hard.

With a drawing, you can specify everything. The composition, the posing, whatever weird-ass monster you want to be fucking the player, you name it.

Really, though, I think it comes down to poor management skills. People want a fully-coloured 720p CG for every single scene, with a background and lighting and shading and they can't buy a lot because they have no money and it just keeps going and going.

Find someone who can knock out a few dozen pencil sketches for you in a day and get someone to "ink" + colour them later. It's better to have your game fully-arted with kind of crappy art than have one REALLY GOOD picture.
