It's a version of the trolley problem. At the end of the day, most people would say that the result that ends with the fewest dead is the most ethical, but others would argue that letting the town die at the end is more ethical since it's the result of letting the game finish on it's own, while going back to kill Chloe is an action you take, meaning you're killing one person versus letting people die.
You could also argue that inaction is action.
I love thinking about this kinds of ethics shit. Of course I sacrificed Chloe, I cried like a bitch though.

This is exactly why I chose Chloe over Arcadia. The emotional tie to Chloe was significantly stronger than that to anyone else I came across. It's ego-centric, but I guess that's what we get for being flawed.

Well fuck me sideways... When I came browsing on ACO I didn't expect to see my old thread still alive let alone top page at the moment. As of now I've already completed the game. Yes I agree its overrated. It was a great concept but between the big company crap and the inevitable "time travel plot" clichés and plot holes that are in every movie or game with time travel it was just spread to far too thin. I'm not going to review the damn gene here right now but I will say this much.

It is a nice game to play once maybe twice and that's it. I played it according to the way I would act while using my own common sense and critical thinking. So of course I made a lot of little mistakes and where some times I felt it was my fault a vast majority of the time is just because I moved to the next area rather than inspect the entire area top to bottom. I mean I always do that by default I explore the shit out of game scenes but I still missed a lot apparently. But in the end I just felt after the big reveal/twist at the near end all the suspense dropped... fear amd panic is all I felt and it plays your emotions well. I do just fine with gore and love horror and thrillers and yet even a hardened veterin of those genres I still felt creeped out and disgusted by it and the acting by Mark Jefferson when he starts talking all evil-like is phenomenal(-y disturbing)!

And yeah the endings or should I say ending! It just comes down to this. Most people. Logical. Rational. thinking people would say I'm sorry clohe but the universe is literally fucking itself to peices because of your very existence... soooo adios. It made me weep like a child but its because it was an inevitability that no matter how obvious or predictable some may find it, it still plucks at your heart strings. (Right in the feels).

But. I am yet to play (go on YouTube and watch) the sacrifice Arcadia Bay ending(?).

I mean first of all I loved the telltale walking dead series. (YES FLAWS AND ALL... Those fucking eyebrows!) The characters lack emotion outside of main plot dialog and just seem to robotic to invest in at times but like I said I played as if I was in max's position and not as a gamer playing as max and in lies the problem with the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay ending. It only makes sense to max. Only Max as the script writers and story dictates would think of that as an option. Leading up to that ending lever cutscene "press LMB to end game" etc, it shows that max even when faced with her trans-dimentional self... A MUCH WISER self, she still acts like a selfish person and remains in denial. It was actually clohe who says that her living is causing all this. so yeah its LOGICAL ENDING - vs - THE ENDING THAT REGARDLESS OF HOW SELFISH IT IS; IT STAYS TRUE TO THE CHARACTER.

It felt rushed and very disappointing. To spend so long merging your own self into the role of Max Caulfield and feeling like she's your own "insert personality here" silent protagonist just to have her yank the control out of your hands and then immediately have mumma clohe tell her ok max time to pack your toys away grown up business now and throw you in a endingtron-3000 is just rude.

It had all the potential to be a very smart and charming game but fell sorry with flat performances by voice actors being forced to say selfie, d a n k o g b u d, and other outdated lines (wowsers), and a rushed ending chapter that copies and pastes a WaCkY NiGhTmArE seQueNSe ouT of nOwhErE and push you down one of two poorly rushed ending... *sigh* "who wrote the story for this game... is that you hiding under the desk with your crayons capcom!?"
