Pretty weak argument to be honest. He acts as if postcard memories are impossible in modern anime but they are still used all the time. I don't really get what he means by "picturesque" but there is plenty of anime that focuses far more on nice looking still shots than movement, the whole of SHAFT as a studio is based on this. Then there is an implication that people in anime can't make pretty pictures so much anymore which is just bullshit. Background studios like Pablo, Easter, Ogura Kobo and even Inspired on Made in Abyss put out work among the best quality backgrounds the medium has ever had to offer. The other contention that is complete horseshit is that digital animation somehow does away with the need for limited animation techniques which just isn't true in the slightest most anime are still extremely limited in animation.

Following on from that, I think the guy has a decent grip about what it is that works in Berserk and why most of the adaptations fail, he has a good understanding of the manga. I just think he has some misconceptions about anime that lead him to draw the wrong conclusions about why the recent adaptations don't work as well. I don't think really it has anything to do with techniques, digital, cel or whatever. Just staff and maybe to a certain extent trends in animation styles what with the movement towards more simplistic forms over recent decades. But just consider he likes the art in Berserk and is a big fan of Dezaki. Might that be because Shichiro Kobayashi was art director on the show also worked on things like Cobra, Gamba, Golgo, Ashita no Joe, Aim for the Ace rather than there being something inherently wrong with modern animation?

Berserk CAN be done. It's just very difficult and requires a director who can grasp that a series famous for its action sequences is actually composed of far more than just the action sequences. That's what the modern adaptations are massively failing at.
That and both NuBerserks have utterly disgusting art direction.
The '97 anime didn't have much animation going for it, but fuck if it didn't do the art justice.

Are you sure you actually speak English? This happens all the time with many words that are the same in singular and plural, and it's extremely obvious which is being used 99% of the time, because of conjugations and articles.
