>Kaio-ken, Dragon Ball
>Eight Gates, NARUTO
Risk-and-Benefit is the Best Fighting style, isn't it?

as if kaio-ken actually has any degrading effect on goku's body. it's basically just an extra power level he has now.
Bleach only had this thing and Letz Stihl
>3rd Gear One Piece
Yep, Risk-And-Benefit can give a character major powerups but since the show will never show him die of early age they dont need to give the character any real downsides.

you fucking joking?
kaioken wrecked his stamina hard and when he did x4, it pretty much broke him
granted, 8 gates can kill if used to the limit
Try watching Yuuki Yuuna.

No, it's not, because the characters never actually suffer from using the techniques. Even when Guy died in Naruto after opening all the gates, Uzumaki Jesus just rezd him later.
if the only major drawback is "muh life span" then the writer is fucking shit

>Be Frieza
>Stomp maximum kaio-ken
>Be Madara
>Defeat 8-gates Gai
Being evil stomps these styles, only main character asspulls beat them.
>>161268580
he's talkinga bout dragon ball super where goku uses kaioken at any time while transformed into his most powerful super saiyan form and it doesn't affect his stamina in the slightest
>>161267883
I prefer one hit KO stomps.

Goku had improved by the time he fought Freez;, he spent a long time fighting in kaiokenx10 but did fuck himself up when he tried a x20 to fire a kamehameha.
That said, he sure didn't get tired as he realistically should have been during that long ass fight. He keeps getting up despite taking a beating while fighting ay above his level before unlosking SS1.

I only like that shit whenever they use their power they permanently lose something.
Watching someone do an asspull and go super strong, save the day and then pass out is fucking boring, its so common.
Kaioken's main problem was being in a series obsessed with video game math multipliers. They established right after it was introduced that the villain was 40 times stronger than the main character, which Kaioken couldn't do. Therefore the most interesting technique in the show was rendered irrelevant. They could have kept going up, but the idea of Kaioken x100 or so on gets ridiculous, since you're fighting with effectively 100 of yourself. Either it should vaporize people in one hit, or be so necessary to the fight that there's no way in hell you could survive without it.
The proper way of handling that kind of move is probably how 8 Gates did it. There's an established upper limit, defined drawbacks, and no defined number on what multipliers you're getting. Just a vague impression that you're getting much stronger at some cost. Eight gates was probably too many though, considering most never got used, and there's no distinct difference between them beyond the threat level.
