What is /a's opinion on how one should watch evangelion?

i just watched the original series and then "The End of Evangelion" movie after i finished

was pretty cohesive and logical enough of a transition for me

Just remember there's no actual depth to the plot and don't fall for the "2deep4u" meme. Anno was a severely depressed, talentless hack when he directed it and he still is but, now he has money and he wants more, thus the rebuilds were made. The first few episodes were cinematically gorgeous so Anno could pitch it to the networks but, after that it turned into the anime equivalent of /r/im14andthisisdeep. Enjoy

Do skip Death & Rebirth, its just a clip show of the series & the unfinished first 25 minutes of EOE.

Also ignore the haters, the Rebirth stuff is decent (1.0) to great if inconsistent & vague (3.0) to phenomenal (2.0).
