to me it just seems like a show where you're supposed to excuse a characters shitty actions just because they have a sad backstory and are the main character

Most of it is just boring and the low budget hentai tier QUALITY animation doesn't help

It was one of my first anime back in the days, I though it was good.

Watched it last year, and I really couldn't get past the third episode. Still can't. It's probably because when I was younger, I always forced myself to finish a show that I've already started, which I absolutely regret following.
