Does the manga flight gear not have the mechanical boot, and front mounted gear bag? I found these features added a lot of authenticity in the sense of having a unique, iconic kit, for a unique type of soldier.

Having a helmet in that type of combat seems pointless, and in the anime a lot of the story was indeed told through Tanya's eyes and facial expression, so i can understand the removal of the goggles.

The manga is currently behind the show, both are based on a light novel so yes massive amounts of things are left out in the anime. Lots of the plot is in internal monologues both in how Tanya plans out and thinks something will happen and the thought trains of people as they jump to conclusions that completely misinterpret her actions from what she intended. The manga is better at showing this off but still drops a few things.

It's not even that clear of an AOTS for Winter, it had KonoSuba, Maid Dragon and LWA and I agree it was better than them but I think Demi-chan was better. It was still good and depending on Fall, it might even deserve to be in the top 10. Sure the plot was interesting but the character designs were shit, the animation had tons of QUALITY in between few seconds of barely above average action sequences and don't get me started on the delays which might not matter to those watching it later, but it drove NUTS those who watched it seasonally.
