One of the basic lessons of any military, business or sport is something akin to "the best defense is a good offense." Even in games, you learn that if you play defensively and wait to react to opponents, you let them employ whatever plan they want while you're forced to deal with it. Disruption, malleability and putting your assets to good use are all part of any good plan, and Gohan's plan is doing none of those things.

Their plan may as well have been to blow a hole in the ground and place Roshi, Krillin and Tien in there, cover it up and hope no one notices until it's over.

Ever since dragon balls were first used to revive a KIA protagonist it's been obvious that things turn out just fine in the end. I'd say the only time this didn't turn out to be the case was when Goku actually chose to stay dead after Cell. Nothing's really different now. We know the Earth won't be blown up (and if it does Whis or the Dragon Balls will fix it), we know these beloved characters that have been around for decades won't be permanently killed off even without the Z Epilogue to confirm it. Everyone logically would be fighting near the center. The people in the center would be targeted the most.

The best strategy in this tournament would probably be to fight in rotation around the midsection, just outside of the center. Keep the weaker fighters near the center while your heavy hitters rotate around the center of the team, knocking out weaker targets. That way you don't remain a locked target, you're still getting people like Goku, Freeze, Vegeta, etc out in the field to do what they want to do anyway. You're also not the focal point of the entire match, and close enough to the ring that you can knock out isolated targets.

Remaining stationary in the middle is the worst thing to do. But as mentioned, it doesn't matter since they're going to be written however the writer wants. Their plan could have been to just jump off in the first few seconds and they'd still be written to win.

Hit and Frost have shown the best strategies so far. They just take a guy out and then vanish immediately.

While I got a little pissy that Caulifla could ascend to so many different stages of Super Saiyan with hardly any effort I've concluded that she's probably a prodigy like Goku and only needs proper guidance to obtain stronger level of power since she already has the motivation/drive. And though she hit USSJ she couldn't sustain it for a length of time. Trunks swung away at [or rather toward] Perfect Cell for like five minutes and was good to keep going. Though he did spend the equivalent of a year training it so it makes sense. Then she just asks Goku if back tingles are the key to SSJ2 and Goku is like "yeh" and then she just does it. Though I suppose being battlehorny is what triggers the transformation.

She's annoying when she IS transformed.

Every time she's on screen, she ruins whatever is going on. I was excited for the goku vs cauli fight. And it lasted 30 seconds before kale ruined it.

So transformations are total bullshit now? Before characters had to actually work their ass off or go through some traumatic shit to reach a new level, characters with incredibly high potential like Gohan had to get their powers unlocked by 24 hour rituals by an elder kai but now its just DUDE TINGLES ON YOUR BACK LMAO or DUDE MY SIS LMAO.

Not to mention they completely nerfed SSB because muh Legendary SS and the only explanation we get for it is DUDE ORIGINAL SAIYAN

Yeah sure Caulifa totally cares about Kale on an emotional capacity. It's pretty clear that Goku and Caulifa are both just sociopaths with little to no genuine care or consideration for others emotional well being, for fucks sake they were fighting while Kale was crying hysterically and loudly over Caulifa's rejection of her and Goku even just coldly dismissed her as a bother, the pair of them only care about fighting and maybe protecting the physical and mental well being of innocent lives but certainly not their emotional well beings.

To contrast, Cabba and Vegeta unlike Goku and Caulifa are clearly far more capable of understanding and helping other people in an emotional capacity even if they are typically one step behind their happy go-lucky sociopath rival/friend in the fighting department.

With a haxy ass power like Zenkai, desu they could have done it sooner if they tried.

So really the only two bullshit moments are kids going SSJ and Pic/Nail fighting Frieza.

I still don't understand this. I know how much of a pain in the ass animation is, but with computers and all nowadays its way easier than doing everything by hand and yet many of pre-2000s animation looks amazing. Now its all the flat, bright colors with no detail or soul to them.
