Your post had me curious enough to go and check each show's numbers on pixiv, since that's as good of a popularity gauge as any.
Using Heartcatch as a cutoff point cause I'm lazy, you can see a pretty healthy amount of fanart for both HC and Smile and this big gap on Suite for some reason, but what's really interesting is that Doki completely blows every other Precure outta the water with 30k results tagged. HaCha has half that amount, GoPri nears 20k and Mahou dips again with 10k.

Now Pixiv isn't exclusively used by otaku or big friends, and other sites like Twitter could potentially throw these numbers off. I'm also not sure what exactly could be the cause of Doki's astounding popularity other than a sudden influx of new users to the site, but by these numbers Kirakira should be having more fanart than Mahou anytime soon. This of course assumes every piece of fanart is correctly tagged and also excludes the umbrella tag for "Precure series" or All-Star movies than a lot of crossover fanart falls upon.

I'm trying to find some doujinshi database to compare who has the most doujins since that would specifically pertain to otaku circles, but I'm iffy on those results on doujinshi.org ,probably just catalogued most of them as "precure series" and it's bound to be missing a lot as well
