So are the humans that reject instrumentality and come back to reality absolutely fucked? What do they eat to survive? How do they rebuild when the earth is fucking destroyed?

Hasn't it been years since instrumentaltiy started and still only Asuka and Shinji were the ones to reject it, meaning the chances of others coming back to help rebuild are low? Humanity is doomed, isn't ti?
