Bleach didn't have a tournament arc
>>
Goku uses "-sama" for all his mentors except for Kame-sennin contrary to his remaining students who all use the suffix for him. That's because Kame-sennin himself was the person who taught him to address people properly.

Soul Society was essentially a tournament arc since it was 90% fights with characters being developed during the fights

>Bleach didn't have a tournament arc
True, but it had a ladder match system. They used it multiple times. They mainly used the nemesis model for match ups thou.

That's because every single arc in Bleach is the same shit from Soul Society onward, just fight after fight after fight.
No need for an "official" tournament arc when every single part of Bleach might as well be one.

It was all the Soul King's entertainment, he must know Zeno-sama

I feel like the Arrancar arc basically had one Espada specifically designed for one of the captains/Ichigo to fight. It was like, hey lets make Arrancar Kenpachi so he can fight Kenpachi. Hey lets make someone water based so they can fight Hitsugaya etc.

One Piece doesn't have an eyepatch character.

If you removed Yammy from this shit, almost nothing would change.

What's interesting about this is an old quote which talks about how Luffy is a completely different take on the common image of a pirate, with the eyepatch stereotype specifically mentioned as well, yet there is possible foreshadowing for Luffy eventually looking more like one by the end.

Imagine that even with all the scallywags and traditional-style pirates in the series, the only prominent eyepatch wearing one by the end is the cheerful faced protaganist.

Of course, Zoro is the most likely candidate for an eyepatch at some point as well seeing as one of his eyes has been closed post-timeskip.

Elaborate? Scars, of course.
