I'm not so sure what happened in the end of season 3 but I think she take the job to make sure other girls won't suffer like her last replacement.

The job provide some sort of solution/closure in a conflict. Without it, the conflict will become bigger and involves more unrelated people. Humanity will never change. They'll always look for conflict and catharsis.
