So I just had a small peg for one of figures break because I'm a ham handed retard. After the intiital panic I looked up the guide for repairing it, and it doesn't give a list of domestic glues you use. Also there isn't consensus on which glue anywhere else I've looked.

The king of glue depends on what king of peg you are repairing, if its an structural peg jsut glue is not enough and pinning is the way to go. If its not regular superglue can be used as long as there isn't clear ABS plastic anywhere near. Otherwise clear epoxy works.

I've never seen pegs of literally smaller diameter than a needle, and smaller ones i've seen are metal pins used on some 1/8 castoff able bikini figures.

That said, if even that is too big no kind of glue will ever work.

Superglue and all cyanoacrylate base glues work pretty much the same, loctite being the most popular, great adherence but they become brittle over time so they are no good for structural repairs, they also release fumes when curing and can potentially smoke clear ABS plastic.

PCV glues work by , literally, melting the surface and creating a bonding media between the parts, so deformation is to be expected.

Clear epoxy works wonders, but its a two parts adhesive and usually too thick to be used reliable without leaving obvious marks.

There is no perfect glue for every case and there's always a trade off. And all of them are pretty much not optimal for really small repairs where pinning is the answer

Also I'm curious, please post the figure that has such small pegs.

I was thinking about how they use it for normal cases where you drill a hole to accommodate a rod and insert it to help reinforce reconnecting the two parts.

That look rather simple to fix. Either replace the peg with a metal rod of equal thickness. Or replace the peg neodymium magnets (probably 1.5mm from the looks of it, but check yourself). You can get a pinvise, magnets and the metal rod from ebay or your local hobby store.

Yeah, I was originally assuming you needed to make a rod that went into the peg and still use that as opposed to outright replacing it. Which is why I made the needle reference. As I said, I lack three dimensional thinking.

I'm looking up the guide again for inserting a pin, and the only thing I'm apprehensive about is trying to use a drill (pin vice or electric) to make space for the rod/magnet in the outfit where the peg broke off since I have a feeling I'd cock that up since I'd have zero margin for error if I moved it at even a slight angle based on the thickness of the outfit. Any advice there would be greatly appreciated.

I've obviously not been to the new store, but their current store in AkibaZone is pretty standard Akiba fare. Their prices seem to be their online prices. Some things are a little cheaper than elsewhere, most are more expensive. I can't imagine the Radio Kaikan store would be any different.

My book collecting has been refined into mainly buying art books or keyframe doujins, . I don't have an interest in collecting other types of doujins or manga at this point. For that reason browsing second hand book stores is a bit tedious since I have to pull out and look at every single art book.

I'd be slightly more interesting in buying figures this time since I bought a fuck load of art book stuff last time and don't think I have much I'm lacking at this moment. Pic is what I brought back last time but only makes up like 1/6 or 1/8 of my collection

There's a store in Nakano Broadway (might be one of the Yellow Submarine or Lashinbang stores, I could probably give you an exact store location if you're interested) which has the best selection of sakuga doujins I've ever seen. All collected together in a couple of shelves.

Not sure why. Maybe one of the shop staff is really into that stuff.
