The technology is practically handed to them. Give a bunch of barbarians computers, and tell them to innovate with that.

He "flies" (more like jumps really high) by expanding and compressing the air behind him. This sort of magic would require a modern understanding of air, and the fact that air isn't just a void of nothing.

Only very rare monsters that appear once in a while, are able to wreck their castles though.

People get stuck into thinking of the world with certain mindsets. And sometimes you have to go all the way back and build things from scratch. I've no clue how the people in this world were using magic, but it's possible that they were just "handed" these magic spells, like how the Ether reactors and such were "handed" to them.

Presumably for more accurate aiming, and so he could attach a bayonet to the end.

Again, people get stuck into thinking of the world in certain ways. In our own world, the design for a gun or rifle took centuries to come up with, with hand-canons looking awkward as fuck to anyone today.

What? No. The MC was just faster (because reasons explained in the show) and could maneuver around the turtle while whittling its magical defenses down. Everyone already knew that it uses magic to support itself; the problem is actually fighting it long enough for that weakness to make itself apparent.

Horses were used for those purpose by militaries during WW1 and WW2 even though they had cars and radios.
If you gotta transport a missive, then horse is pretty much the way to go, unless you wanna risk air-mailing it.

The cores used for the robots to move are actually scarce and can only be given by a certainelf tribe. They mostly use the crystals for weaponry rather than for means of daily living because the world is filled with creatures, making a movable cart with crystals would probably cost a lot and would probably need many, you also need to be mana literate since you basically also need to use your mana for guiding the carriage, and farmers don't probably have education. The staff into a gunBLADE, he basically just made it look like a gun because he is more familiar with it, and probably a chuuni, it's for casting and slashing, and he wants to have precision than a wide range while wasting your mana.

Resources.
WW2 german army was dragged across europe by millions of horses. Trucks existed but were too expensive to operate. They didn't have infinite resources. This is the same country that developed massive tanks and the V2 rocket, and yet they relied on the same logistics that napolean used.
Unless you were little stationed alongside train tracks and had a secure place to offload train or ship cargo, pretty much every piece of artillery, AA gun, case of ammo, and shells were dragged by horse to where they were needed.
