Why do people call Yui autistic when she's pretty much the exact opposite of a person with autism?
>>159642336
because she's pretty autistic
>>159642336
Because austism lost it's meaning ages ago.
Just like edge/edgy and literally.
>>159642391
Both of those have a more specific meaning than "autism" on 4chan
>>159642336
You know autism doesn't mean you necessarily suck at social interactions right? some people can be extroverts autists ( Paul Denino AKA Ice Poseidon is a extrovert autist for example )
Autism is basically a kind of retardation hardcore in one field but it gets compesated in other, but thats a very vague definition of it anyways because of all the spectrum
In Yui's case she doesn't really care about social situations that much and is a very imaginative person which makes her a very intuitive person capable of learning through flows and ideas instead of methods
Also /a/ is retarded, don't take what they say so seriously
Many on 4chan now believe that autism means any asocial, quirky, or airheaded behavior.
Autism has no meaning on 4chan. Nothing here does. Its just thrown around for whatever

Yui's actually a "realistic" representation of someone with Asperger's, which is on the autistic spectrum.
>>159642336
Self-inserting
Her character is unrealistic for a fictional character of her age, that 'Autism' is an only plausible explanation
The entire show happens in Yui's head.
The rest of the cast doesn't actually exist.

>Reads wikipedia
Holy shit, I'm literally Yui. Except for the part that I'm not a cute anime girl. Just the bad parts
>>159642561
Not that unrealistic for Japan
>>159642336
People just don't understand how special she is and will never understand until it's too late and we all pass on to the other side where Mother Yui will judge us for our sins.

>Not that unrealistic for Japan
Because?

Autists doesnt really suck at social interaction the same way someone with social anxiety does either, they simply have a harder time grasping the more subtle and complex aspects. For example failing to pick up sarcasm is very common amongst autists. Their social skills often depends heavily on the people around them.

>Failing to pick up sarcasm
I think I'm autistic
>>159643163
Its not an exclusive symptom, you may just be an idiot
>>159642391
this, some of us replaced "retard" for "autist"
>>159642466
I had a best friend who was good looking, used to be our best singer in HS and used to write amazing stuff he was very talented with words but he was very shy to speak, he stuttered when read out loud and he never really cared about girls
Was he autistic? also he only learned how to tie his shoes when he was like 15, but nobody ever noticed that except me

Probably
