I don't think the Buu arc is all that much worse than Cell, if at all. The Android/Cell arc had some cool ideas and moments but I think it's a little underwhelming.

Dragonball is really good, Dragon Ball Z is good up to Cell, after that the fans took over and the story became a cannon fanfic. GT barely deserves being mentioned.
And Super is just people trying to milk this dead cow again. The fanfic is getting prolonged and everyone stopped caring, they will milk it until they destroy every bit of nostalgia and even the most die hard fans drop the series, to only then put it to rest.
The animation is the least of DBS problems.

Aside of tournament being a big waste of potential, I think that it was pretty damn good until Vegeta's death. Great Saiyaman and Gohan's school life in general was hilarious, as was Goku/Gohan/Vegeta tearing through everything and leaving super important god of the universe and his super important evil nemesis in awe. And all of it made Vegeta switching sides and Buu's awakening feel like shit got real. But from that point on everything got messed up and directionless (I liked Satan/Buu relationship and Genki Dama though).

Cell vs Gohan was shit and people only like it because their self-insert was beating down the main villain. They haven't really been giddy for a moment since Gohan took on 3rd form Freeza.

Gohan becoming a scholar was the best thing to happen to him. Since that was established before his bottomless potential thing. He should let more old people give him power ups, Elder Namek and Elder Kai was not enough.

Story-wise, Dragon Ball was always bad. But it was ok because it looked nice and the fights were good. The plot was basically written around the fighting scene. Example: Piccolo being wished onto planet Namek, Vegeta letting Cell transform, SSJ3 Goku not killing fat Boo (resulting in literally everyone except himself and Mr Satan to die). All of these make little sense plot-wise, but gives us more fighting scenes.

In DB Super, everything is shit. The story is shit, the writing is shit, the fights are shit, the animation is shit. It's unwatchable. I literally cannot sit through one entire episode without skipping ahead minutes at a time, because the current scene is so shit.
Wasn't there an episode that consisted of Beerus and his fat counter-part talking about food or something for 10 minutes straight? Jesus Christ.
That's basically what DB Super is now. Every other episode, they will eat some normal, bland food and then over-react and pretend it's the best shit ever. What do you call this? Cake? UMEEEEE. Guess I won't blow up your planet haha am i funny yet guys, this show is funny right?
