Gurren Lagann is my favorite show; I've rewatched it countless times, shown it to all my friends, it is the show that really got me into anime, and I watched it at a pretty low point in my life, so it taught me a lot, including how to handle death. All the big moments are perfect and the structure of the show shouldn't be changed, but there are still things I think could make it better. If it were a remake, I'd only want them to expand on the background characters and add more to the show (more humanoid fights like Yoko vs Adiane from the movies, insight into the lives of zorthy, kid, iraak, and the like, stuff like that), but if its a sequel, I don't think it'd every live up to the original. A different story in the distant future or a prequel of sorts, sure, maybe, but not a direct sequel and not a remake that changes the show
