Why is there no thread about the announcement of the anime adaptation of Tsukumizu's Girls' Last Tour?
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-02/kadokawa-announces-girls-last-tour-anime-and-original-anime-project/.118339
>>159259071
Look like Sora no Woto
I was about to do the same. This is fantastic news. I wonder if it can keep up with 22 min eps or maybe it will be 12?
>>159259071
Wait, no fucking way.
>>159259071
Amazing, this was on my backlog and now I'm happy.
Is this yuri?
Well goddamn
>>159259930
There're male characters
>>159259990
Dropped
>>159259290
Its more like Kino.
>>159259071
That one girl looks like Kaede.
Kettenkrad fuck yeah!
Based on the fact that Mizushima (director of Girls und Panzer) recently started to follow Tsukumizu's twitter account.
I would bet some money that he will direct it.
http://girls-last-tour.com/
Now Yen Press' quality is different depending on the translator so anyone know the first volume's quality?
>>159259071
...holy shit, and here I was thinking this was one of those series that likely wouldn't get an anime.
>>159261367
I don't know why you fags are so obsessed with everything getting an anime. There are series like this better without an adaptation for several reasons.
So can someone give me a quick rundown what this thing is about? Looks like some weird military/adventure story.
>>159260962
Wait, White Fox? Unexpected.
>>159260581
Kettenkrad a cute! A CUTE!
Director: Ozaki Takaharu
Series composition: Fudeyasu Kazuyuki
Character designer: Toda Mai
Animation production: White Fox
Thank god for White Fox
>>159261534
Its like Kino but in post-apocalypse world.
Finally, a reason to not kill myself.
>>159261534
Girls being dumb in a post-apocalyptic world. Basically cute girls doing boring things.
>>159261871
>>159261985
So it will have nothing besides interesting landscapes? Shame.
>>159262044
Well,it depend on person if you don't like a show like Kino or Mushishi, you might find it boring.
>>159261475
If it's a good adaptation, then I'll get to experience the story again in another way. If it ends up sucking, then I'll ignore it and carry on. I'm not seeing what's the loss here.
>>159262454
Nah you'll hang around the thread shitposting about the anime bruv, stop.
>>159261534
Two cute girls are trying to survive in a world in which seemingly all humans have died or disappeared. They wonder where they should get their food and water from. They meet some other people once in a while. They usually explore some old buildings, factories or other shit. They also like to have fun and do standard CGDCT things. Also there's some supernatural shit (ayy lmao) going on in a few chapters. One girl is a straight man and the other one is an airhead.
It's similar to Kino.
>>159259071
First Chio-chan and now this? What else are they gonna announce, fucking Franken Fran?
>>159262766
>hang around the thread shitposting about the anime
Like I said, if the adaptation sucks, I'll ignore it and move on. I don't go shitposting about Berserk even though the CGI adaptation sucks dick.
>>159263017
What does Franken Fran have to do with either of these series?
>>159259930
Yes, also Chito.
Delighted with this its my favourite manga. Hope they can do justice to Tsukumizu's art style.
>>159263755
Nothing, its just that i never imagined those three would ever get an anime.
I could easily have said Voynich Hotel insteadFucking never ever
>>159263878
Yuri =/= Yuuri
>>159262854
>One girl is a straight man
what does this mean?
>>159264173
Futanari.Look up Japanese comedy.
So, Kino with a kettenkrad?
>>159264295
So one of them is futa and this is funny?
>>159264010
>Yuri == Yuuri
>>159264380
Nah. People say Kino, but it's really not the same. The girls remind me a bit of Hidamari Sketch. The stories are explorative, but they lack a romantic narrative.
It's interesting, but not Kino.
Reminds me of this guy.
I just realized why this is getting an anime, they want the GUP audience.
>>159259071
>manga I just recently read keep getting adaptations
Magic
>>159264598
Why don't you read Yotsuba, faggot?
>>159264682
I already did anon.
>>159259071
holy fucking shit this is getting an adaptation?
god is aliveplease keep the manga style
>>159261062
>>159264865
What do you think?
the Yuri Seijin Naoko-san ending
>>>/wsg/1762256
left me wondering whether a urbex series would work with full length episodes as there usually isn't too much happening.
So anything known about the length?
>>159259071
Oh shit I remember reading this. It's like STALKER but instead of monsters it's just cute girls exploring and scavenging for supplies.
Dreams really do come true.
>>159264508
It's nothing like GuP though, outside of the WWII vehicle used.
>>159264508
Its not really at all similar to Girls und Panzer though
>>159265240
>>159265270
They're hoping the otaku won't notice.
Who is best girl and why is it both of them and also the weasel thing that eats bullets
The manga makes me think of it as post apocalyptic YKK
>>159264966
>6 volumes
>no more than 20 chapters each
I'm pretty sure it's gonna be half-length.
>>159265585
>post apocalyptic YKK
But YKK is post apocalyptic.
>>159266040
Could it be a movie?
>>159266344
No, it's a TV anime.
This looks good. Picked up.
>>159266190
Oh yeah. Gritty post apoc?
>>159259071
Neat.
I just recently started reading and I'm pleased that anon rumors of anime adapation were true.
>more /ak/ stuff
anime is saved
Fuck, I just finally painted by kettenkrad kit grey because the cover of the first volume had it in grey, but now I'm seeing people draw it in beige all over. I sure hope they're keeping the thing grey in the anime or I'll have to repaint it.
i was expecting that nazi elf girl one
is this it
>>159259071
>followed the artist on Twitter before I even realised the sketches he posted were from his manga
Does this even have enough content for an anime? Isn't there only like a book or 2 out?
>>159275350
I know 3 volumes for the west but too lazy to look up how many JP volumes.
>>159275350
There's 4 volumes plus some unvolumed chapters. Also I'm pretty sure the author is a she
>>159275350
4 volumes, fifth is on the way in about two months I think. It's available online, but only the first 3 and the last 6 or so chapters.
It's absolutely amazing stuff, the current scanlations really don't do it justice. I have no idea what the Yen Press release looks like though.
>>159275697
The author's gender is still a debate even on jap boards. I'm pretty sure it's a she, or some form of she.
Also at some point she deleted her pixiv account, and entirely flushed her twitter which is a fuckload of lost art. She basically posts something new every day, some stuff gets deleted only a few minutes after posting. Quite the temperamental artist.
>>159275908
>Also at some point she deleted her pixiv account, and entirely flushed her twitter which is a fuckload of lost art. She basically posts something new every day, some stuff gets deleted only a few minutes after posting.
I hate artists like this. Broken links everywhere.
I don't get most of the artist's pictures.
>>159275908
>Quite the temperamental artist.
I know how to correct that!
Rape doujins when?
Not saying you guys are wrong, but it feels more similar to Blame! with Hidamari characters.
>>159259071
wow
Totally unexpected
Good stuff
So the director of that Persona 5 special. White Fox.
Staff doesn't look that hot, though the key visual is great.
>>159261871
Sounds comfy.
>>159260998
>>159275908
It's pretty good, at least better than the current group working on it.
>>159259071
I'm not sure how well this will translate into an anime. Hopefully the visual and sound direction are good otherwise I can see this turning into a poor man's CGDCT.
My favourite thing about the series is that the two girls are wearing different army's uniforms. The post apocalyptic setting is great for slipping in subtle little things like that and not bashing you over the head with it.
Man I thought this was a pretty obscure series. The industry has been really reaching deep lately. Made In Abyss getting adapted was crazy enough. I never in a million years would've thought they'd adapt this.
>>159259071
What is this? Discount moeblob yuri Kino?
>>159283305
I see someone ripped the YP release then, I kinda feel like checking it out just to see how bad of a job we did.
>>159283564
I can't speak to the quality of the translation in the Yen Press release, but the YP release is printed in a larger format than the original JP version. The art looks really nice on those larger pages.
So it is good?
>>159272421
No.
But this should have anime too.
>>159259290
It's directed by a guy who was "director of photography" for Sora no Woto, so you can expect the anime to look even more like it.
Also found a translated alphabet.
https://teammoe.haruha.ru/apocanotes/
>>159259071
Because it's just another Moe blob, every year there are dozens of crap like that.
>>159287383
But its /ak/!
>>159280738
>implying that wouldn't be perfect
>>159287383
>can't appreciate mono no aware
I'm sorry.
Good, now adapt Kutsuzure and Groundless.
>>159287383
But it's probably the best moeblob out there anon, hopefully it will be a 30 minute anime so they can add extra scenes with nothing but pure silence/background noises and scenery for extra comfy points.
>>159259071
Holy shit it's real
Bough all tankobon while visiting Akiba, became one of my favorites
>>159287808
>Kutsuzure

>>159292211

>>159263017
>Chio-chan
Which Chio?
>>159259071
Well this came out of the left field. Can't actually imagine it selling well, because it's so slow paced and not your regular SoL setting, can't wait though.
>>159293806
This one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piWbD3V2Lj8
>>159293422
It's not Sora no Woto, though. They both have an apocalyptic scenario and girls in military clothing but that's about it. Everything from plot to overall tone is completely different. You'll only end up disappointed if you are going in with that mindset.
>>159294919
Oh shit, that's nice.
This will deliver shitposting material for a whole lifetime.
>>159294924
It looks very comfy, and I don't mind skelly-tier episodes either. I loved Kino as well. I don't know how I could possibly not like it, to be honest. Wanted to read the manga for ages, too, just never got to it.
>>159294919
It's funny how by spending some time on /a/ you find out about most manga before they get an anime adaptation (the obvious exceptions being manga that don't get scanlated by anyone). /a/'s still doing its job, even after all this time.
>>159297086
Oh, that's fine then. I got the impression you were waiting for something similar.
They look like Stalla no Mahou characters going hollow.
>>159259071
The fuck is wrong with their heads?
>>159287808
>Groundless anime
>all gory scenes will be replaced with people simply droping dead with minimal amount of blood
>>159299671
What's wrong with your aesthetic taste?
One of these was done by a scanlation group and the other one is an official licensed release.
Can you guess which one is which?
>>159300205
He's used to the autism that is standard anime heads and figures.
>Made in Abyss animated
>Girls' Last Tour animated
Are we living in the golden age of low-profile and unconventional art-style manga getting adaptions?
>>159301310
That's the official one
Scanlated has her repeating ''dark'' multiple times
>>159302077
>That's the official oneWhich one
>>159302077
There's two different scanlations, one unreadable bad joke that uses MS Paint for editing and a good one by Team Moe that they had to cancel because it got licensed
>>159301310
Right one is licensed, last time I checked YP did their sound effects like that.
>>159287311
>someone noticed it
>>159302146
I wouldn't say we canned it because of YP, we actually considered just going with it and doing the rest but TS-kun's motivation entirely died with the news, even though I was two volumes in as far as translation goes.
I think we did a pretty okayish job with the 4 releases, and I truly wish we could have kept going. It's probably the best mango I've had the pleasure to read in years and it's a nice change of pace from all the moeshit we usually do.
>>159259071
>all these awesome series getting adaptations out of nowhere
We really are in the best timeline
>post apocalyptia
>modern weaponry mixed with old weaponry just lying around
>not a single computing device
I feel conflicted
>>159304156
>not a single computing device
There are literal robots though.
>MiA
>now this
Terumina anime when?
>>159259290
It's Cute Girls Doing Gone With The Blastwave, basically.
>>159306362
>left to right
>>159306419
Right to left is funnier
>>159301310
Right-hand is the official Yen Press version, I've got a copy.
I prefer the redrawn English sound effects. I'm sure that saying so will trigger the autism of some wee/a/boo but There's more craft in a redrawn effect and for something that's specifically meant to be big and bold it's counterproductive to force you to squint for the effect and it obscures more of the page.
>>159306468
It kinda is. They suggest something ridiculous, instantly get tired of it, try it again, it doesn't work and they get redressed.
It's a study of ennui.
>>159306626
>>159301310
Why is the scanlation reddish rather than black&white?
Isn't that a waste of file-size?
>>159306744
It's not? Are you on an iPhone? They have a thing where some grayscale show as red.
>>159306958
It definitely is.
The "black" is actually #231816, which is redddish.
Here, I removed the color from the image. Compare the two images for yourself if you don't believe me.
>>159307046
Oops. Lost the image.
>>159307076
>>159307046
>>159301310
Is this some sort of ruse? I honestly can't tell the difference.
>>159301310
Right is most certainly Yen Press because they do sound effects just like that in Yotsuba, probably to preserve art or some shit. Whatever this reason is, I prefer it rather than photoshopping translated sound effects.
>>159307143
Then your monitor is probably shit.
Just to make sure: It's the left side that's different. Ignore the right side.
>>159306744
It's how the digital raws were, I wanted to level them black but the typesetter thought the brown-ish was more ass dead dicks or whatever.
The later volumes are the usual black, and a slightly higher resolution but the compression is a tiny bit worse leading to some quite visible artifacts.
>>159307155
>preserve art
because it's the lazier way and you can cop out with that argument
Redraws take effort and care, slapping text onto stuff does not preserve art at all
>>159260581
What's the point of the wheel in front? Steering? Can't tracks do that? Also the purpose of tracks are to carry heavy load across rough terrain, won't the wheel be obsolete there?
>>159309434
Don't doubt the Kettenkrad, it is superior german engineering
>>159309434
Its cute. Think of it like Nano's key.
Finally I can post this
>>159309434
It's for steering, when you make a turn, it automatically brake one of the tracks. If you're on terrain too rough or soft for the wheel it can be remove.
Why did they made it halftracked? Might be because it's easier to train soldier for using it, it more or less drive like a bike.
>>159309900
Germans loved halftracks.
>>159309961
>ywn have a halftrack limousine to drive across the Russian landscape.
Everybody loved halftracks, not just the Germans. I blame the technological improvement in tires which made them obsolete.
Are we going to be racist to animeonlyfags ahead of time?
>>159312166
Yes, everyone should have read SSR beforehand
Hidamari und Panzer.
>>159312948
There's not that much to read though.
>>159315184
That's one of the reasons, it's not a massive investment of time like reading multiple hundreds of chapters.
