They're doing it in a different order from the LN from what you're telling us, which is fine because the LN weren't in chronological order anyway. I'm no sure with Ishidate as the ED for the first episode or introduction, I prefer Yamada or Ishihara since they're good at this. He's just like Takemoto, he's good at directing when the character is already introduced. Akiko is pretty mediocre in story telling and animation.
Hope Sawa does a great job at her debut ED.
