Naruto for all the critism has its bright moments.
I think "overpowered" shit should have been limited. Having only the tailed beasts as OP would have enchanced the outsider/freak/weapon status of the jinchuurikis even further. There are some times when intelligence, not some over powered shit shines, and thats where naruto is brightests.
I do think people like early naruto for that reason, besides sharingan most fights were more dependent on the brains than the op powers, hell even in the first fight of Kakashi he used brains more than his eye, remember how he "copied" Zabuzas jutsu?

And as far as I know this was the only time we see the copy aspect of sharingan in naruto, later on it just become weird OP sharingan with genjutsus and blackholes etc. This alone shows how bad it went.

Naruto on average was always a C-with a high B+ during some of the better arcs, making Sasuke a secondary protagonist instead of a rival was a huge mistake. Reminder Naruto didn't defeat Zabuza/Haku due to strategy, he did it because of a Kyuubi-sponsored power up, the series was shit from the beggining you just didn't notice until it was obvious enough.

I like to think that Naruto ended with Naruto dying after his fight with Saksuke, and Sasuke dying hours later due to his injuries after the battle.
Now that the ninetails is gone, and the last Uchiha was killed, peace slowly returns to the world, thanks to some unknown hero who's name remains unknown, just like how a true ninja vanishes with the shadows without leaving a trace.

Naruto would be a good series if Kishimoto was actually a good writer. The themes of hard work and talent constantly going back and forth amongst each other. Friendship superseding justice and common sense. Characters being brought back to life over and over, while characters survive ridiculous injuries. And villains being pulled straight from the writers ass. Lack of focus on a shit ton of characters while other characters get way too much focus etc

What do Sharingan and Rinnegan even do anyway? I get the whole "seeing" thing when Kakashi used it to copy hand seals and when Sasuke completed it during the valley fight with Nardo, but then the mangekyo lets you summon unquenchable fire and a big skeleton monster and make genjutsu and summon secret dimensions. Not sure I get the way Rinnegan worked either aside from controlling Pain's paths

Itachi was part of the problem. Should've ended with Akatsuki, maybe just leaving Pain as the big bad and using an imperfect 10 tails during their fight. Naruto's character arc would've still been completed since he'd be on the fast track to Hokage and Hinata would've already confessed her love. Leave Sakura as a support character and Sasuke out altogether.

I've seen all of them but Shippuden movies 1 and 3. They are all pretty mediocre except for Boruto which is good fun. Blood Prison and Road to Ninja are somewhat watchable. The main problem with Naruto was the mc and Sasuke.
If Kishimoto wasn't such a hack he could've portrayed the relationship between the two as somewhat realistic.
Not that the rest of the series is anything remarkable but the fact that the two central leads are unbearable puts the nail in the coffin.

The original Naruto is good if you take out all that shitty emotional story telling. Like the Zabuza fight is great its a shame its littered with that stupid little kids backstory story.

Nothing will ever beat Naruto talking to Neji about how the way you are born doesn't matter only for Naruto to be revealed to be the son of a Hokage and the reincarnation of someone related to one of the bigges mythical figures in the world.

I would've enjoyed it a shit ton more if they didn't try to hammer home the idea that non village affiliated assassins (which would realistically be infinitely preferable if you had to off someone but didn't want to risk a war) and people that employed actual goddamn ninja tactics like stealth, sneak attacks, and cheap shots rather that face to face confrontation were to be considered scum. In addition to that they made it a habit of having any legitimately interesting characters job to super speshul asspull power up of the week despite the fact that said characters were earlier proven to be fucking monstrous in terms of combative ability. Rock lee and pic related immediately spring to mind.

Also remake the teams. Half the kids were pointless and didn't get any focus. Fuse Naruto and Rock Lee's character. Something about Naruto being shitty at jutsus is a god thing because he can't rely on the nine-tails. Delete Sasuke and Sakura and every Uchicha from the story, make Naruto's teammates Neji and Hinata. Keep Ino-Shika-Cho as the only secondary team. Make Hinata interact with Naruto more and make her slowly drop the shyness. Make actual friendships between teammates.

They have transformation abilities if they need to sneak somewhere. Along with other abilities useful for infiltration like making clones, moving super fast, climbing walls, etc. The kind of clothes they wear normally doesn't really matter.

Power levels should have peaked with the Orochimaru vs 3rd Hokage fight. Orochimaru really should have been the series big bad. His final form should have been taking Sasuke's eyes.
