Shindo also ascends. Yukika talks to him in "ghost" form which is really his ascended form that only Yukika with her advanced nature can see. However Saraka soon figures out the nature of his words and ascends herself. ZaShunina either goes back to the anisotropic and has some great stories to tell or possibly was force-ascended by Yukika, which would be hilarious.

The rest of humanity can figure out how to go to the anisotropic on their own terms and will eventually develop zaShunina's "gifts" on their own, which was the right way to do things.

Kado: The right way to ruin a show

By the end of this all the characters were so shit I can't even care about what happened to them except Hanamori.

The ending and Saraka's straight face wouldn't have been that jarring to me if she was more relevant before episode 8.
Thinking about it, right after that boat scene, the whole build up involving zaShunina and the gifts are torn down at the instant, devolving into "repulse the evil" shit all of the sudden.
The writing is understandable, but the writer really fucked up the pacing.

I've figured it out. Death is the final frontier. Without the anisotropic gifts, humanity will eventually kill itself off. But in doing so, they reach a place higher than the anisotropics: where Shindo is right now. So Tsukai was always in the right. The moral of the story is that suicide is the right answer.

I don't see what you guys hate about this ending, aside from more or less nothing being accomplished in the end. The only jarring plot hole is if an anisotropic being can fuck a human to create a stronger being, why aren't there more of these superior beings? Did saraka's reincarnations choose not to get pregnant or what?Sure, shindo did "die" somewhat in vain, but he literally ascended to a higher plane of existence by doing so.

I was led to believe this would be like an oldfashioned scifi story that's about ideas rather than action, and it would revolve around negotiation, trying to understand the other party and making decisions, but then we got this instead. These later events seem like they came from another show. They didn't fit, they felt rushed and nonsensical. Maybe they could have been made to work with more time and development and better writing.

A pretty lame show in the end.

- why the hell did they need Hanamori to raise Yukika? I understand Shindo trying to not look older but what about Tsukai? Can she stay young forever?
It would explain why Yukika doesn't seem to give a shit about her parents. She doesn't even acknowledge her mother and doesn't even look sad that Shindo is dead. Then she proceeds to fuck off. It's like she is telling them "this is all you wanted me to do? I am done, I am leaving" what a fucking sad family.

Shindo probably just used her mother so that he could have a backup plan and Yukika probably knows that's the whole purpose of her existence and Tsukai probably figure it out too eventually considering she grew up having an actual loving father and a real family instead of the bullshit they put her through. Plus she just stood there and didn't do shit. Also fuck Natsume for saying that Hanamori is not Yukika's father. He is the closest thing Yukika has for a family and that's sad.

I think Yukika only became a god because she lived in an psuedo anisotropic world so she developed a better sense for it. I think that was pretty clear since she talked about how fregonics was just ZaShi being a scrub. I'm guessing she wasn't doing nothing for 16 years but it took her 16 years to figure out to specialize using anisotropic powers in this universe

I think that's what they were going for. But honestly there was probably a better solution to everything. It's kinda bullshit that Tsukai and Shindo didn't atleast visit her every so often. It'd be kinda freaking seeing your daughter age so fast though
