I see how this might irk some people who expect more lighthearted, silly and straightforward mahou shoujo comedy but it hasn't bothered me that much. I like how this iteration of the franchise is more restrained with its parody nonsense and yet manages to strike a good balance between comedy and more serious character moments with a clearer structure and story arc than its predecessor.

I remember there being a scene in the older show where Aoi puts something in between her breasts, Haruka tries to do the same, it falls because her tits aren't big enough, then they look at each other's faces and smile. It's about the only thing I remember from it too.

Anyway, all things considered I don't regret watching this. It was a bit weak until the trap episode which was great, then it was ok. My main complaint is that the last episode didn't feel crazy enough when you consider all that happened. Also, there were some things thrown that should have been explored more, for example when Mary asks "Can you still be a hero", I imagine we are around episode 6 or 7 and we are going to get a flashback to explore the sacrifices Mary had to make and her fall to the dark side.

She still had flashback scenes pretty much every episode and those were some of the best scenes, which is saying a lot of a show that had the baka sisters in it.

Finally finished. I thought the ending was rushed, but I didn't really mind it since my expectation were kind of blown away

I expected a bomb thing like in the OP, that didn't happen. I expected Billy, but that didn't happen.
I wasn't expecting big bad to just job (lol), Mary killing herself summoning a large space ship to fire at earth from space to only be stopped by the dolls that came back.

The only thing I called out correctly was the who? joke.
Overall, pretty good and enjoyable, I wish there was maybe a bit more parody and bit less character/emotional stuff, but the balance and quality of the comedy was pretty good. Barely any non-medy.
