He's right tho. Inuyasha is Isekai. It's all about the general plot structure being someone thrust into a world that is foreign to them and all that it entails.

That said, most people these days associate isekai with a particular sub-genre or story type (read, rpg-like fantasy or just straight up an online game) because it's blown up in popularity. It's unfortunate when words lose meaning due to trends and abuse like this, but it happens.
