Loved his work and was devastated when he died.

I've seen everything he made except Millennium Actress and it's all boring, dull, and overall lifeless. The best thing he did was the editing in Paprika, that's it.

He visualized the play with time masterfully. A fairly unique director whose works stand the test of time. I wouldn't use his name in the same sentence as Miyazaki, but I felt like he was just getting started as a director and he could have very well ended up in the same ranks. Shame really.
