I actually am disappointed that Misato never found herself inside Unit-01 with Shinji. It probably would have been fun and sexy, plus I have a hypothesis that Misato actually can sync with an Eva because she has the right history/personality profile, and because she was at ground zero of Second Impact so her physiology changed in the same way every child born after Second Impact's did.
