Naruto has many faults, if you're someone that can't ignore details and enjoy a show for what it tries to give you don't waste your time watching it. Go watch a mature anime like Boku dake ga Inai Machi to put an example.

Naruto is a great experience and if you finish it you'll wish it never ended but you have to be forgiving, remember this is a fucking shounen for teenagers. Not a reaally serious show but it has its tearful moments and life lessons underneath all the action.

Jiraiya did teach him a shit ton of basic stuff he never got in school, which is a miracle, and about 50% of the Jubie control during the time skip. How he didn't teach him the shadow clone learning or chakra nature stuff though, I will never know. He should of had at least some basic knowledge and ability of that stuff considering how much he learned from Kakashi about it.
