Is Polygon Pictures the beginning of the end of 2D japanese animation? Is time to kneel to our 3D overlords and say goodbye to anime as we know it?
Yes anon, it's time to admit 3D is superior.
yes and no
yes because they make it
no because netflix pays them too

Considering how choppy Blame!'s CGI was, I sure hope not. Outside of the action scenes, every frame was eye cancer.

Turn on interpolation on your TV

Yes .......... but seriously though I love 2D but that shit is expensive and Japs already work in a glorified slavery system so gotta accept we will end with more 3D stuff since is relative cheaper to make

>sidonia
>ajin
>blame
All of these looked like shit so no.
Potato faces can't compete with properly drawn 2d.
I think 3D works with camera moves and mecha-fights and technology elements.
3D (Japanese) doesn't work portraying emotions and moving characters.

I hope so. I honestly have no idea why we've held onto the outdated concept of 2D animation for so long. Animators must stop using methods from at least 200 years ago and finally evolve.
I'm a sakugafag and I'll never accept 3D animation in traditionally 2D media like anime. Hand drawn or bust. Redline would have been better with not CGI.

Redline took literally forever and was a total money-sink to make and a Box office bomb at the end.It was still good thoughbut accept it grandpa, the budget doesnt allow it, accept 3D will be the future if not neck yourself already senpai

I'll never give up the one area in which I actually have good taste. Fuck CGI hand drawn is best.
