It also used "Maki Gero" as Gero's full name, so I'm pretty sure it was based on the Latin American dub, at least for most of Z and GT.

Several terms changed in the Buu Saga dub and it had an original title card for the episodes, so that likely was translated straight from Japanese.

was thinking about a Dragon Ball Kai, for the original series, but even the filler is fun in that. The only fun filler Z had was Gohan meeting Lime while Goku figured out the metal linked puzzle.
