A lot of the people in the comments don't seem to have seen past the anime, so I don't know how that effects things. Regulus being in 8th place makes me think they definitely polled WN readers, or else there's no way he could have gotten there. So I'm kind of confused.

However, if we go by the people in the comments, it's because only fujos like Julius. One thing I've noticed is that "Echidna Psychopaths", as they seem to be known, are kind of cancerous. They're deliberately trying to bait Remfags, about how her time will be over when Season 2 comes, but no one seems to be biting. Not even when they call Rem disgusting trash.

Remfags mostly only seem to be responding when people say Rem is "convenient for Otaku" or "submissive", pointing out that she's actually fairly stubborn and holds Subaru to a high standard.

Most sidestories make a reference to mayonnaise, placing them after Mayo Mayhem. Ordinary Happy Day makes reference to both Rem's Day Off and Alcohol Panic, so it takes place after. Rem's Birthday references some sidestories where Ram and Emilia made baked potatoes, as well as her Day Off.

In fact, aside from the Mayo Chapter, I believe these sidestories are mostly written in chronological order, though that'd make Rem 18 by the end of them.

Same reason why first generation Roswaal had yellow eyes while all his possessed kids had blue. Also why he had some kind of feeling in one of his eyes, and there was a line about it asserting itself.

His possession technique probably doesn't entirely wipe out its host. Roswaal both is and isn't the original Roswaal. Using his blue eye shows that he's started moving past who he was.
