They pick shit yuri series to animate.

Yuri itself isn't the problem, it's that most actual yuri and BL series are shit. Yuribait series usually don't focus on silly romance and drama but some other, overarching plot and the hinted romance is just happening by the way. Hibike, Tiger and Bunny or Yuri on Ice contained many more or less gay parts but they also had a lot of other stuff that appealed to a wider audience unlike full yuri/BL anime with sparkling boys or girls that innocently touch each other's titts.

They just pick the shittiest possible yuri to animate like Citrus because for some fucked up reason it has readers.

Personally it'd like to see Hana to Hoshi animated but it will never happen.
