LNs are so fucking awful that only the best ~1% of submitted scripts get published and then only the top ~20% of those are worth funding for anime advertisements.
When you watch an LN anime and think Damn, this is pretty base and generic, remember that you're watching what the publisher deems worthy of heavy endorsement as the best of their best.
