Dangan Ronpa 3 is the only ending they're going to give you so you'll probably need to watch it to tie up all the bullshit loose ends they created. Don't watch the anime for season 1, it's bad fanservice.

I sort of wish they didn't reveal anything about the outside world in any of the games and just left it all ambiguous. Also, making MonoKuma the mascot was clever from a business point of view but that stopped being funny really fast after the first game.

It has more Saionji, so I can't complain about it.
I really want to bully Saionji so much. I want to scold her to tears and throw her into pool. I want to take her gummies and eat them in front of her. Also, does anyone else think DR1 had better atmosphere than DR2? Walking around the school in DR1 was so creepy compared to walking around the island in 2D side scrolling mode. I'm really glad they're bringing back DR1-style exploration in V3.

If you want a conclusion to the Hope's Peak story then you need to watch DR3 although personally I'd recommend that you don't. DR3 was an utter disappointment. It was only fun to watch last summer with /a/.

Three ruined the 2nd game by making the class turn evil through bullshit mind control

Danganronpa: The Animation is absolute garbage. Not worth a watch a tall. It's a rushed, abridged version of the first game with NONE of the good aspects of the game there.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academdy on the other hand at its best is pretty good and at its worst at least watchable. The pacing isn't completely fucked because it's an original story, and it gives some more detail on how Junko did all the shit she did. And also acts as a nice conclusion to the Hopes Peak Arc all together.
