It wasn't Baba actually, though Alishafags love to use that conspiracy theory. The director, and head writer intended for her to be a side character from the very start. In the games they intentionally made her irrelevant. Even her character designer admits to this.

Where Baba really fucked up, was that he failed to inform the other divisions about the staffs' plans apparently because he might not have been paying attention to Zestiria's development, so he actually didn't know much about it, and just tended to just quote the game script. Up until he fucked up and accidentally let everyone know that he didn't know shit about the game. And then also forced the game to be released when it wasn't finished.

That's where you'd be wrong. The equipment is there because of the Maltran event, she actually has less available equipment than everyone else.

Also it helps to pay attention, they give you several reasons for her leaving. Most important of them was 1. She's a princess of Hyland (even if she wants to forget it) and 2. Sorey actually doesn't need her. Her making Sorey lose his eyesight was there to foreshadow's Sorey needing to go to sleep to be used as a theter by Maotelus to help increase the resonance of people in Glenwood.

Beyond that though Alisha has no need to be in Sorey's party, you may have wanted her to stick around because you like her for some inexplicable reason but she was completely unnecessary overall.

Lailah learnt about the children when they were brought in by Zenrus, that's why Mikleo's name is "Ruzuloshivu Lelei" (I don't remember english one) - Enforcer Mikleo and Lailah's name is "Foesu Meima" - Lailah the Pure

Now look at Seres, who's true name is "Ruzuroshivu hii Foesu" - Enforcer of Purification.

Lailah is reborn Seres
Making her new entity, but still having fundamentals of both Celica and Seres.

As Seres was responsible of "crafting" device allowing Armatization to be possible, now Lailah the reason why the party can armatize in Zestiria.
The arte Melchior created was thrown away by Eleanor.
Also Lailah hesitates a lot before allowing Sorey to use it, Dezel never heard of it before, even if he and Lailah had meet when he was still under Lafarga's care and she traveled with Michael.

Armatization is arte, not ability.
It's just more stable when human and seraph are in synch, and that requires high resonance of a human.

The game's approach was actually better for this sort of ending ironcially. The reason why Alisha kept fucking up was because she was actually more useful in the political arena but she hated being a princess and wanted to be a hero so she couldn't progress with her goals, but Alisha was just too stubborn to realize it on her own.

It took Alisha getting blackmailed, Maltran literally telling her to get her head of the clouds before killing herself for Alisha to grow up and realize that she could actually help people by being a princess and being active in politics, and not by playing at being a hero.
