I was talking about the archetype and not about the situations, autismo.
At the OVA's she's that one rich bitch that have everything the hero wants, going downfall at the climax of the series/movie while the heroine dethrones her. It's on every academia/high school cliche character guide.
However she is now the final challenge, the one who is trying to accomplish the exactly same thing that the heroine is, but in completely different ways. What is a completely different thing from being just a rival.

I think it was because the competition rules said that they needed to sit there and get sacrificed, and technically they did not get sacrificed, they stopped it mid-ritual and resolved the issue. So if we're thinking of it another way, Akko and co stopped mid race in a track meet to help a fellow runner having a heart attack.

I'm still having a blast, but that's cause I'm really easy to please, and being negative about something like this will always leave you disappointed. It's sort of the same feeling I got last summer with Danganronpa 3. I ADORE Danganronpa, but 3 was not, uh, exactly "good". But as soon as you let go and enjoy the ride you have a blast.

A writer already has to deal with a lot of restriction / limitation inherent to storytelling itself (consistency of characterization, plot, and world mechanics among others).
