What if Black was revealed to be West Kaioshin?

Keep the idea of her surviving Buu's rampage, but have her been rogue this entire time. She feels disgusted at the fact that despite being a goddess, she was nearly killed by a mortal like Buu. Over time, she saw how mortals became stronger, even surpassing Kaioshin themselves. She then heard of the Saiyan who defeated Buu and most recently fought against Beerus the GoD which was Goku; so she stole his body so that she can become the strongest in the universe - a position she feels she deserves as a god.

She would later recruit Zamasu who shared the same feelings about mortals in Future Trunks' timeline and then the two became partners.

Black being West Kaioshin would also explain his flamboyancy and attachment to beauty.

Is everyone in the multiverse hard of hearing? The Omni King would have destroyed the weaker universes whether Goku said anything or not. The Grand Priest even said loud and clear they would destroy Universe 7 if Goku had lost against Bergamo purposely. They weren't giving anyone a choice but to fight for their universe, but thanks to Goku they have a chance.

On another note, people complaining about Krillin going up against SSB Goku. You know if Goku was really serious Krillin would have been erased from existence in an instant, right? The only reason Goku went SSB was to show Krillin what it feel like to be up against someone on Goku's level.

"But Krillin's Kamehameha stood up against Goku's." It's called "Ki-control," which Goku most likely used so he wouldn't completely destroy Krillin. And even then, Goku would've killed or heavily injured him if Android 18 had not stepped in.

Yes obviously SSB Goku was holding back a lot otherwise he would have one shot Krillin and 18 just like Beerus did to the Z fighters at the beginning of Super.

However, it is Goku's fault that U7 and 7 other universes are under threat. It's true that Zeno (or maybe Daishinkan) planned to get rid of the lesser universes. HOWEVER, if we look at what happened to future Trunks' timeline, we see that Zeno didn't in fact destroy all of the weaker universes. It's very possible that Zeno completely forgot about his plan to cleanse the worlds just like how he forgot about that tournament. The destruction of the universes could have occurred millions of years later which would only be a blink of an eye to a God like Zeno.

The problem I have with Sean Schemmel's Goku is that his performance is one-note and he can't deliver dialogue. And when he puts on his deep "serious" voice for SSJ3 and SSJ4 it sounds cringe as fuck.

Even though Nozawa is an 80-year-old woman she honest to God sounds more convincing to me. Maybe it's just the language/accent but to my ears her Goku doesn't sound like a woman.

I think the criticism of her owes a lot to how the anime was initially aired in America.

In Japan it (obviously) started from the beginning so it was a kung fu spoof with sci-fi and fantasy elements that gradually became more serious. Goku was introduced to audiences as a child first.

In America the only successful attempt at localization was a heavily altered version of Z. Viewers knew Goku as an adult first, and only knew the more serious stories. The issue was exacerbated by the dub altering the tone of the series to make it much more "hardcore," especially when Bruce Faulconer started scoring it. To this audience Goku HAD to sound like a grown man.

I like to compare Goku to Bart Simpson. Bart is a 10-year-old boy who has been voiced by a woman from the very beginning. When people hear Bart's voice they don't hear a woman, they hear Bart. In episodes that take place in the future with Bart as an adult he's voiced by the same woman, because that's Bart's voice whether he's an adult or a child.

It's the exact same with Goku. Viewers knew Nozawa's Goku for years, so when he became an adult it was natural to use the same actress and just have her adjust her performance. In the dub when Gohan grows up his voice changes and it creates a cognitive break that makes it difficult to identify him as the same character. In the original there is no such problem. The issue of having an adult have the voice of a child is less important than the character no longer being recognizable.

So it's never been a big deal to me. I get why people prefer Sean.

I feel the same way, anon. Whenever I hear women character roles that Nozawa portrays, it doesn't feel right. I'll always hear "Goku", "Gohan", "Goten", "Bardock", and no one else.

Take your weeb glasses off and you'll realize that almost all of Funi's adaptations are better than the Japanese original nowadays. DB Kai and Super are far better with Funimation. Original Z is better with Japanese audio mostly because bruce faulconer is shit.

This is an official figure, but it reveals the huge issue with using such a system. And the SSJ transformation, which multiplies power 50 fold, makes Goku so powerful that numbers really have no meaning.
