She's a tragic character that got way more shit than she deserved.

I'd have more respect for her if that one time in the VN where she asks you to kill her while she's on bed agonizing didn't lead to a BAD END where Rider decapitates you. Relieving her of her suffering at that point would have been the more satisfying conclusion for that character.

Shirou would have broken completely if he killed Sakura at that point, though, since people had already died because of the shadow, meaning he would have failed both at protecting his loved one and at protecting the masses.

Sakura accepting her death at the hands of Shirou is definitely a powerful moment, though, as it's shown that Shirou turning against her is pretty much her very worst nightmare, and Zouken was banking on breaking her mind once and for all through tricking Shirou into trying to kill her. Her decision to finish things with Zouken after that even if it cost her her life makes her even more respectable, as it shows that she's willing to risk everything to set things right and save Shirou from suffering any more for her sake.
