It's just one of those shows that are plagued with shitposting for the first few weeks of the season until it's clear what's going to sell well and the shitposters move on to that. The threads will be calmer in a few weeks unless this show becomes really popular.

In the original they explicitly were both fired. They very well might have been in the new version as well, not like their boss was happy with them at the end, but they took out the ending line of the boss yelling that they were both fired.

Warau salesman has no such rule. He's literally just a fucking troll.

>Car episode

>Golgo-face guy episode
He's tired of people looking to him to solve all of the problems they have, so salesman makes him go mad until he ends up finding some fat ugly sugar mama and sucking her tits 24/7. The family stumbles upon it and are shocked.

>Teaches random guy how to drive by letting him crash everywhere on random fancy expensive cars and then goads him into driving drunk and fucking his shit up

That was great, Moguro goads him into driving a stolen truck, has him break countless traffic laws while chased by the police, cause several accidents and break a couple buildings before coming to a stop surrounded by police.

Best thing is as Moguro is walking away he ponders just how many laws that guy broke there, and then just says it was amusing.

But yeah, as you say, he is just a troll doing things for the hell of it, rather than someone trying to fairly teach moral lessons.

Moguro would probably be mildly surprised at the length she went to and the gun would no doubt be repo'd

>>
>>155488504
>What would happen if she bought and ate food with that credit card.
I can imagine an episode already:
A bulimic supermodel who grew up too poor to eat well is now rich but cannot use her money to gorge on food and get fat like she always wanted to, so Moguro gives her a choker or something that prevents her from actually eating anything, only tasting it. She wants to feel full for once, though, so she takes it off and eats a massive meal. Moguro finds her and works his magic. She wakes up the next day and is 400lbs. She goes broke.

If OL used the credit card though, I'd think she would just wake up the next day feeling hungry. Maybe they'll make her puke it up.

There is no such rule. All that was said was that what the woman bought was to be repossessed. So starting again from 0, then that means she will always end up at 0 when Moguro comes to grab her shit.

Except that one time she randomly ended lower than that.

Alright, fine. The point of the stories is literally just Moguro being an asshole. It's just about him fucking people over. No message. No justice. It's just him being a jerk.

For some reason, that point eluded you. Probably because of your crippling autism.
>>
>>155492304
And we again go back to our good old math problem.

0 + 2 - 2 = -2

Oh wait no it's not. Call it however you want, but the deal is that Moguro would get rid of everything that the woman bought so nothing is permanent and she'd be able to do whatever the fuck she wanted without it eating into her economy. The woman bought a spa beauty treatment, she didn't buy a "become 40 years younger" potion.

And that's a shit example because even in that case Moguro should have had returned the woman back to normal.
>>

Its more accurate to say she bought everything that came after the beauty parlor, adoration of the masses and the attention of the cute guy at the bar.
So Moguro billed her future potential for those things.

>>
>>155492388
Did you even read my post? he REMOVES her beauty. All of it. Again it has nothing to do with how much she purchased but it is the act of breaking the rules which made him REMOVE all her beauty, your math problem has no relevance in this argument because the solution doesn't matter due to her breaking the rules. She gets a penalty for breaking the rules that Moguro told her when he gave her the card.

>And that's a shit example because even in that case Moguro should have had returned the woman back to normal.

Why would he? She broke the rules so he punishes her for it with a punishment that is unrelated to the beauty that would be repossessed if it could be repossessed.
>>
>>155492388

Moguro does not do these things for people out of the good of his heart, he "helps" people because he knows that they'll fuck up and he'll get his jollies from their eventual punishment

He fully expects people to take advantage of his "kindness" and they pay for it

He's a trickster playing of the temptation of man, just leave it.
>>
>>155492525
>the story set up some internal logic for itself

It does, Moguro offers a person something and a rule. While he doesn't explicity tell them that he will punish them for breaking the rule the viewer already knows that since it's a rule to begin with.

The internal logic is not disregarded, the show follows it completely. Writing does not somehow become bad if the reader cannot comprehend it, the two are unrelated.
>>
>>155492527
>he REMOVES her beauty. All of it.
Breaking his own rules in the process. Why is this so fucking hard to get?

>She gets a penalty for breaking the rules
Except at no point did she do that. Why is this so fucking hard to get?

>Why would he?
Because that's the rule he himself set for the use of his unlimited money magic credit card. Why is this so fucking hard to get?

>>155492528
If this wasn't a monkey's paw "these fuck themselves over" kind of setup then they wouldn't have given us any rules. There also wouldn't be any story, he would have walked up to the woman, turned her into a skellington and fucked off.
>>
>>155492525
Honestly, let's assume your incredible autism is correct and they did break the rules.

How is it bad storytelling? It still achieves its goal, and evokes the right emotions in the audience members who are capable of going outside their basement, so what's the issue?

>>155492676
He cannot not repossess her beauty. This means she broke the rules. This means Moguro punishes her with a punishment that is unrelated to the rule anymore because it was already broken. Again you keep being distracted by the fact that she loses her beauty instead of actually looking at why he took her beauty.

How hard is it to understand that having the devil tell you that you have to give back everything you buy the next day, and then buying something that can't be given back is breaking the rules?

She broke the rule, she gets a punishment for breaking the rules. Why should he follow the rules if they are already broken by her?
>>
>>155492676

>There also wouldn't be any story, he would have walked up to the woman, turned her into a skellington and fucked off.

But that's not fun for Moguro, someone as sadistic as him likes to watch people destroy themselves with that which they desire

I don't know whether the rules are so that Moguro can find justification or as some sort of test to see if the mark is worth fucking with in the first place

To be fucking frank I didn't expect a thread about an adaption of a fucking 60's manga to garner so much tension

>>

>How is it bad storytelling?
Monkey's paw stories are about the wishee getting a gift, then due to their shitty personalities using said gift to bring ruin upon themselves.

The woman did not invite punishment, it was just handed to her just cuz. Just because the intended message is clear as day doesn't mean the story supports it well at all. Like imagine a story where the moral is "please protect mother nature" but the hero wins by cutting down trees to make catapults.
>>
>>155492785

The sad thing is, there isn't anything else to talk about
>>
>>155492877
The women literally says herself that she wanted to buy a spa treatment because it can't be taken back.

She knows full well that what she is doing is trying to cheat the system, which is breaking the rules.
>>

That's not what's happening.

>in the first story he didn't let the dudes destroy themselves, he got in the way
>in the second story he punished the woman himself despite that she did nothing wrong (let alone destroying herself with the credit card)
>>
>>155492974
Thinking of breaking the rules =/= Breaking the rules

You're quite the dense person, I must say.
>>
>>155493028
In what way was he going to take something from a sleeping women and give it to a spa? You don't buy beauty from a shelf and put it on then take it off again the next day. She broke the rules because it can't be repossessed, it can only be taken away which is not the same thing no matter how hard you try in thinking it is.

>>155493103
She broke the rules (all bought things will be repossessed the next day) because she bought something that couldn't be repossessed. This is not thinking about breaking the rules, it's breaking the rules. Just because the salesman doesn't literally scream in your face that buying something that can't be repossessed is breaking the rules doesn't mean that it's not breaking the rules.
>>
>>155492877
Then maybe it's not a monkey paw story. Like everyone keeps telling you, it doesn't have a moral. Maybe you just projected your expectations, and now you're mad because it didn't fit the tiny box you'd carved out for it.

This is true. Moguro punishes everyone for the hell of it. He's just having a good time.

Because every single post so far has been the same argument but worded slightly differently.

Did the repossession crew take away the woman's youth or did Moguro do it?

They broke a different set of rules that weren't his own, but they still broke the rules.
>>
>>155494235
The big problem is that they attempted a monkey's paw setup while also having the paw actively fuck over the mark's life instead of letting them do it themselves. The writer simply did not know how these stories are supposed to go and you end up with shit like this that doesn't make sense.

>>155494286

Moguro is not the repossession crew, he removed her beauty, not repossess it.

The difference being that Romeo and Juliet is a complete story with a beginning, middle and end. Warau Salesman is an episodic series where the same thing keeps happening - they try to setup a monkey's paw scenario where the person who gets their wish granted gets his life destroyed by it, except Moguro is the one doing it instead because what the fuck is writing

They aren't trying to write a monkey's paw story. You keep saying they are, but they just aren't. The story is not about them fucking themselves over, it's about Moguro fucking them over. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
>>
>>155494837
It can't be that because of the motherfucking setup. I said this before and I'll say it again: If this is a story about a midget fucking people over then what in the holy shit is all this wish crap? Why is it not a story about a magic midget punting people across the street into a fucking trampoline while playing a comically oversized trumpet?
>>
>>155494903
Because it's a bait and switch. He plays like he's going to help them, but doesn't. Setup alone is not enough to define a story, as I've already demonstrated.
>>
>>155494693
>destroying
That's a funny way of describing having to write the same thing over and over again because you fail to understand it.

That he didn't repossess her beauty but removed it. The removal has nothing to do with the repossession but with the fact that she broke the rules.

That part is more focused on the fact that they took expensive drinks and couldn't afford it, the part of them being scolded by their boss is just an extra.
>>
>>155494955
>she broke the rules
She didn't break a single rule.
>>
>>155495181
The women broke the rule of having what she bought with the credit card repossessed the next day by buying something that can't be repossessed, causing her to be punished by the salesman unrelated to the repossession of what she bought because it couldn't be repossessed which is considered breaking the rules.
